Before AAPI month ends, we need to tell you about AAPI artists you should be listening to. And honestly, you should listen to them all year round because they’re amazing! While there are fantastic artists in all genres, we’re going to focus on pop punk and adjacent genres, with primarily lesser-known artists you may not know, but should!
First up is artist and producer, Ricky Jab. If you’re on pop punk TikTok, you’re probably familiar with him because
2. But he’s also gone viral on TikTok because he has some insane remixes that go hard. You can listen to his remix of Olivia Rodrigo’s, ‘driver’s license,’ which has over a million streams on Spotify, btw.
Okay, but we’re still not done. He’s also currently the touring guitarist for one of our other favorite pop punk artists, Taylor Acorn, who is opening for another one of our favorites, Loveless! You can check out the dates below and get tickets here.
In The Mourning
Next, we have In The Mourning! ITM features LA artist Amanda Tran. Her music is described as “rock music for fans of Hello Kitty” and it’s pretty accurate. We love so many of her songs, like: ‘MONEY’ and ‘if he wanted to, he would,’ which we absolutely recommend listening to. But, the one we’re going to link below is her newest song, ‘Leave (Get Out,) which you can check out.
Bonus mention, their photographer, Yising Kao is also Asian! Her work is absolutely amazing!
Glazed is a pop punk band from Florida. And honestly, they have so many bangers. Their new song, ‘Ghosting Myself (Left Out West)’ is coming out next month. They’re also going on tour later this year! To pre-save the song and check out the tour dates, click here. You can listen to ‘Cherry Ice’ below.
Series Break is an up-and-coming, female-fronted pop punk band from Colorado. Since they are a fairly newer band, they don’t have as many songs as the other artists on the list. But, what they have released is really cool and we look forward to hearing more of them! You can listen to their latest single, ‘California’ below.
We know you’d all ask where Young Culture is on this list. Yes, it’s a well-known fact that we love them here at THP. Like, a lot. Vocalist Alex Magnan is Filipino and brings much-needed representation to the scene. We stan him and YC as a whole. All we have to say is, listen to ‘Good Karma.’
