We have been looking forward to so many new games for 2023, and we love to keep an eye on any updates that might come out before we can play. Thanks to their Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has given us more release dates and inside looks at some of their new releases of the year! We want to share our excitement with four of their announcements that are getting us ready to boot up our Switch in these upcoming months!
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
We can’t believe we will play a new Zelda game in the next few months! We finally checked out some of the gameplay for Tears of the Kingdom, and our hype for the game has only gone higher. Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to Breath of the Wild, so if you loved the original, this game has to be one of your most anticipated 2023 releases! We’re going to spend hours enjoying this fantastic open world while fighting new bosses!
Release date: May 12th
Pikmin 4
A new, cute addition to the Pikmin saga will be available to us soon! The gameplay looks amazing, with stunning colors and great graphics. The new bosses also look incredibly fun to play! We can’t wait to enjoy Pikmin 4. Our Switch will be our most beloved companion this summer!
Release date: July 21st
Professor Layton and The New World of Steam
Gamers, this is like our Super Bowl. We are finally getting a new Professor Layton game for the Switch! We’re very excited to enjoy this new adventure, and we’re intrigued to see the designs of the puzzles for this game, as many of the older puzzles depended on the touch screen from our previous Nintendo systems. It’s going to be epic!

Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass Wave 4
The next wave of the Booster Course Pass is right around the corner, and Nintendo has previewed some of the additions that will be added to Mario Kart 8 soon. We will be able to play as Birdo (and choose among multiple color selections such as Yoshi’s options), and there will be a new course that will take us along Yoshi’s Island. We’re still waiting to check out the remastered courses for this wave, so we shall wait a little bit longer to be able to play them!
