There’s Nothing Better Than Real Friends’ New EP, There’s Nothing Worse Than Too Late

We at The Honey POP have been anxiously awaiting Real Friends’ new EP, There’s Nothing Worse Than Too Late, and it’s finally here! We’ve been loving their singles, ‘Tell Me I’m Sorry,’ ‘Always Lose,’ and ‘Six Feet‘ so let’s jump right into their new songs from their EP.

‘The Damage Is Done’

This song leans more towards their older sound and we’re here for it. It takes us back and reminds us of why we started stanning Real Friends in the first place. Our favorite lyric: “Why can’t you just walk away, you’re the anchor and I’m drowning, deeper and deeper we go.” You can watch the music video for ‘The Damage Is Done’ below.

‘I Don’t Have To Do That Anymore’

This slow song is perfectly placed. It gives us a chance to breathe after going hard to ‘Six Feet’ It’s definitely one of the most emo songs from the EP, which we love. It hurts, but it hurts so good. If you see us crying when we hear this live, mind your own business.

Our favorite lyrics: “I lost myself trying to conform to all your bullsh*t, I feel sorry for the next one who falls into the footsteps of you and I,”

‘Strangers’

This song is about how sometimes drifting apart is inevitable. Unfortunately, it’s relatable for most of us. But we love how they reference their previous EP, Torn in Two in the opening lyrics, “Two bodies in a bed torn in two.” If and when we’re able to stop blasting this EP on repeat, we’ll be listening to that one next.

Our favorite lyric, “I’m a flame and you’re a short fuse, when the smoke all clears we’ll face the truth.”

‘I’m Not Ready’

Immediately, we noticed the reference to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and it’s brilliant. It’s also the perfect way to end the EP before the acoustic versions of ‘Tell Me I’m Sorry’ and ‘Always Lose’ (which we also love.) It might be called ‘I’m Not Ready’ but we’re so ready to hear this live. We’ll definitely be up in the air crowd surfing for this one.

Our favorite lyric: “Eternal sunshine but never in my mind, I let myself down again,”
