’21st Century Princess’
The opening track of this EP conveys its title to perfection: What happens when you do what you want without caring about what other people might think? Well, you become a ’21st Century Princess!’ Every woman should feel free to become whoever they want, and that’s what Cloudy June wants us to feel when we listen to this song. Be who you are and do the things that make you the happiest! We also love the music video! Not only can we not stop dancing like June during the chorus, but we think it matches the vibes of the single incredibly well.
‘Devil Is A Woman’
We got chills listening to this EP in order, as this track comes after ’21st Century Princess,’ and it has an incredible transition that pulls you immediately into it. ‘Devil Is A Woman’ makes lust becomes real with its verses, which include lines like “I’ve never been a saint, but her power got me on my knees.” The special effects in the music video also tell incredible storytelling, transporting us into the physical set of the thoughts portrayed in the lyrics.
‘You Problem’ Feat. emlyn
There’s nothing more annoying than someone that can’t take responsibility for their actions, and ‘You Problem’ is the perfect f*ck you anthem! This track is a perfect collaboration and the embodiment of the empowering message of the EP. Cloudy June and emlyn’s voices fit perfectly with one another! We love when badass artists collaborate to create the perfect song to turn on when you are going through your most daring outfits in your closet. 💄
‘Documentary’
The last track of this project is the boldest song of the bunch, as it proposes to make a love documentary that will include the passion elements of a relationship. The instrumental of this song immediately reminded us of a Moulin Rouge-esque vibe, and Cloudy June’s vocals range from the raspiness in her voice during the verses to her higher tone through the pre-chorus. ‘Documentary’ finishes 21st Century Princess in the best way possible, and we have to press the play button on the EP again to listen to it from top to bottom the moment it ends!
