March is Women’s History Month, a time all about celebrating women worldwide who have made an impact on those around them! So, naturally, we’ve been thinking a lot about our favorite ladies in music who are changing the game and empowering listeners to be themselves unapologetically. There are so many tracks that pick us up when we’re feeling down, call attention to important issues, and remind us that we deserve to love ourselves no matter what.
Here are some of our favorite empowering songs by iconic female artists!
(G)I-DLE – ‘Nxde’
The ladies of (G)I-DLE secured their spots in K-Pop herstory with this confident track about being secure in your own skin, all while confronting the way women are objectified in media and everyday life. Addressing important issues while giving us an inspiring anthem in the process? Yes, please! There will never be a day we don’t look up to Soyeon, Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi, and Shuhua.

We love to see it, and you deserve to love yourself that way, too!

“In case nobody told you today,” you need to listen to the iconic SZA remix of ‘Special!’ With so many uplifting songs in her catalog, it was really hard to narrow this down to just one Lizzo track, but ‘Special’ has been living in our minds rent-free lately. Taylor Swift – ‘Bejeweled’
You can be the shinest, most stunning gemstone and there will still be someone who doesn’t like diamonds. That’s not on you, honeybee! You can keep sparkling as exactly who you are, and that’s the main idea of the bop that is ‘Bejeweled.’ Don’t let anyone else dull your shine, especially if it’s someone who’s “walking all over [your] peace of mind.”
