Fresh Music Friday is back! We have a lineup of albums and incredible singles to bless all of your ears, and this is seriously a week you can’t miss when it comes to new releases. Are you as excited as we are? Let’s jump in!
The Used – Toxic Positivity
We are starting off Fresh Music Friday with a bang, a new album courtesy of The Used! The album is eleven tracks of some of The Used’s best work to date, in our opinion. ‘Pinky Swear’ is our stand-out track, we have found our permanent workout song in it.
Toxic Positivity is a career-high.

Jakey – ‘Headphones’
Feeling trapped in a relationship can feel like such an isolating feeling, and Jakey is here to let us know we aren’t alone! Along with the lyrics that feel all too relatable, ‘Headphones’ is backed by a track that makes us want to go on a late-night drive with the volume at an absurd level and the windows down.

TO LEARN MORE ABOUT JAKEY:
Goo Goo Dolls x O.A.R – ‘I Won’t Back Down’
This is the musical meeting of minds that we never knew we’ve always needed.
‘I Won’t Back Down’ takes the best of both The Goo Goo Dolls and O.A.R and meshes that perfectly. Even after just one listen we knew that ‘I Won’t Back Down’ was going to be a summer staple. The track simply feels timeless, like so much of The Good Goo Dolls’ other music. Come on, what more can you expect from the group who put out ‘Iris,’ the greatest song of all time.

Nicky Romero, Jonas Blue, and Nico Santos – ‘All You Need Is Love’
‘All You Need Is Love’ is going to be all you’re hearing coming out of our speakers on a night out, sorry not sorry! This track and the collaborators chosen were beyond brilliant, and borderline euphoric. There’s seriously nothing we don’t love about it – all you need is this song!

Blake Ruby – She
Eleven-track albums seem to be the theme on this week’s Fresh Music Friday, and honestly, that’s an album sweet spot! She is expertly crafted and full of so many tracks that could easily take the place of our standout track on the record, but we have to give that title to ‘Lemongrass.’ The tracks sway between feeling lightly sun-soaked to more melancholy, and we love every cohesive moment.

Leith Ross – To Learn
Listen, we are Leith Ross stans through and through, so it goes without saying that to us, To Learn is a flawless debut album. Leith Ross sings with such passion and pens the most beautiful lyrics that it’s near impossible not to lose yourself in each story that these tracks tell. ‘Too Much Time In My House Alone’ has to be our standout track, we can’t stop listening.

Harry Hudson – ‘Lighthouse’
‘Lighthouse’ is a true light. Harry Hudson is baring his soul on this track and holding out his hand to help all of us do the same. We found ourselves getting quite teary-eyed as we listened to this song, and found ourselves relishing in the meditation version of the track that Harry released alongside the standard version.

NERIAH ft. Trevor Daniel – ‘Paris’
Here on Fresh Music Friday, we are always going to jump on board for a duet! ‘Paris’ is a perfect collaboration. NERIAH and Trevor Daniel were able to craft the ultimate night-out track. We can already picture all the memories we will make with this absolute smash as the backing track.

Jake Scott – ‘Married Young’
‘Married Young’ is such an incredibly beautiful love letter to Jake’s wife. If someone wrote a song about being so incredibly sure of us, we would simply combust. Jake Scott was able to paint such a raw and real picture of that ah-ha moment when you know you’ve found the one and are able to ignore the people who try to convince you it’s too soon.
We can already see this being a wedding song for many happy couples!

Matilda Bond – ‘Meet Me In The Middle’
We’re ending Fresh Music Friday with one of our newest musical obsessions, Matilda Bond! ‘Meet Me In The Middle’ is the perfect mix of jazz and pop and is genuinely a sound we don’t hear too much of in mainstream music, that’s a big feat! In an oversaturated industry, being one of one can be difficult, and Matilda has captured how to do just that.
