Not a single day has passed since 2010 that we haven’t thought of The Ready Set at least once. So when he announced his new single ‘Who You Really Are,’ we didn’t even know how to handle ourselves. We had our fingers crossed for new music ever since we saw him start playing more gigs in the last year. But you know us, it’s not like we ever stopped obsessing over the V1 and V2 EPs or anything else of his!
If you’ve had your eyes set on Jordan over the years, like us, you know his journey through the music industry has been challenging. But remaining true to himself and his vision for his art, The Ready Set has more than persevered. We’ve seen him working for the last few years collaboratively. Most recently, this was his collaboration with Little Hurt on the track ‘Buttercup,’ which we can never get enough of. He’s also constantly writing and producing for other artists you love and admire, on top of so much more.
‘Who You Really Are’ is a testament to Jordan’s commitment to being true to himself despite the circumstances. It’s a chaotic, upbeat, synth-pop frenzy of a song that mirrors the anxiety that self-deprecation feels like. The music video, created by long-time friend and insanely talented Ryan Blewett, also brings that same feeling to life. We watch Jordan plant a seed at the beginning, almost like he’s planting his rebirth. It then continues on through a series of stimulating visuals and a powerful performance from Jordan himself.
The Year Of The Ready Set
