Yesterday, lives were changed. Worlds collided. The cause? Joe Jonas posted an Instagram story of how he and Nick were listening to The Maine’s new song, ‘blame.’ We were so stoked to see them loving it as much as we do! To see our faves listening to each other was a dream come true. Now, we’re hoping and praying so hard for a collab. But in the meantime, we thought: what if they covered each other’s songs? Here are a few we think everyone would nail.
The Maine Covering ‘Sucker’
But then, The Maine’s drummer, Pat Kirch posted an Instagram story of him listening to ‘Sucker,’ which he’s so real for. Not only that, he’s on to something here. John’s vocals are perfect for this song. The song also just has such a fun vibe and we know that The Maine is all about that.
The Jonas Brothers Covering ‘Black Butterflies And Déjà Vu’
We already know that this is a perfect song for others to join in. *Cue flashbacks to when Collin Walsh from Grayscale did a duet with them during Sad Summer Fest 2021.* We could definitely see The Jonas Brothers putting their own spin on it.
The Maine Covering ‘Burnin’ Up’
Yes, this is a very obvious one. But it doesn’t mean we don’t need it immediately. This is one of their most iconic songs and honestly, one of the most iconic songs in general. It’s stood the test of time. Plus, everyone knows the lyrics to this. So it wouldn’t be as time-consuming. Just saying.
The Jonas Brothers Covering ‘How Do You Feel’
Let’s be real. They do have some pretty sad songs, so this wouldn’t be much of a stretch. We could see them making it their own and making it super upbeat. Kind of like how they did with ‘Happy When I’m Sad,’ But when you process the lyrics, it hurts.
The Maine Covering ‘Paranoid’
Honestly, this song already gives off strong TM vibes, which is why we think it would be perfect. We don’t think that it would be dramatically different, but it doesn’t need to be. It’d be absolutely fine with us because we clearly love this song.
The Jonas Brothers Covering ‘Loved You A Little’
This is definitely one of the harder TM songs, we love it for that, and clearly, everyone else did since it climbed the Alternative charts. But we definitely could see them turning it into a pop anthem, as well. Slow it down, and maybe add some piano to the mix. Whatever they’d do, we know it’d be great.
