The Jonas Brothers’ A Little Bit Longer Keeps Us Sane

Picture it – the year is 2008 and your world is ruled by three men better known as the Jonas Brothers. They just released their third studio album, and it has effectively taken over your life. We all knew we were done for when the music video for ‘Burnin’ Up’ hit the scene and Big Rob became our honorary bestie. Now fast forward to the year 2023, the Jonas Brothers are about to embark on THE TOUR. And all we can think about is what the A Little Bit Longer set will consist of, it genuinely keeps us up at night. So obviously, we have some requests that we think are necessities to honor the legendary album that is A Little Bit Longer. Let’s buzz right on into them, shall we?

‘Shelf’

All right, there’s no way you could even try to blame us for this one. ‘Shelf‘ has seen some live performances in recent years, as well. So it’s beyond fair game to make THE TOUR setlist. Screaming “the next guy who will make your cold heart melt” with the Jonas Brothers sounds like therapy to us. If you happen to be at opening of tour and hear a guttural scream when/if they start to play this, just know that’s us. And we are having an astral moment.

‘Can’t Have You’

We know what you’re thinking. Oh, so you love pain? And so what if we do? This song hurts in a way that somehow heals us in the same way. Not only does this track have one of our favorite bridges on the entire record. But it’s a powerful rock ballad that anyone can’t help but be obsessed with. “Cause you would if you could, don’t lie. ‘Cause I give everything that I’ve got left, to show you I mean what I have said. I know I was such a fool, but I can’t live without you”

‘Pushin’ Me Away’

The Jonas Brothers to pop-punk fan pipeline is very, very real. And ‘Pushin’ Me Away‘ is a track that serves as the perfect example of that pipeline. It’s a catchy, addicting, pop-punk anthem if we’re being genuine. Hearing this live would make us levitate in the arena, no doubt about it. “Try to fix what you’ve done. Turn back the sun. The night is calling and we’re falling faster now.”

‘Tonight’

Speaking of catchy pop-punk anthems, ‘Tonight‘ is that and so much more. ‘Tonight’ served as the third single off of A Little Bit Longer. The track even received a music video that served as a promotion for the legendary film, Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. This not making the setlist would be a crime against humanity. “As the starlit sky begins to shine, we’re breaking down. She screams out. No, we’re not gonna work this out tonight.”

‘Sorry’

Okay, so this one might be a stretch, we’ll admit it. But think about how healing it would be to belt this one out live with the band. The crying would be a half-emotional process, half-shock induced. Yes, we would end up having to bring this up in therapy later to fully process it. But it’s a price we are more than willing to pay! “Can’t make it alive on my own. But if you have to go, then please girl, just leave me alone. ‘Cause I don’t want to see you and me going our separate ways. Begging you to stay, if it isn’t too late.”
