There’s nothing we love more than when our musical worlds collide! And that’s exactly what will happen at Tokyo Dome this November, as our faves YOASOBI support our other faves Coldplay on tour. Music of the Spheres will be landing in Tokyo on November 7th and 8th, and you can get tickets here!
Maybe you’re a Coldplayer who wants to know more about YOASOBI. Or maybe you’ve just become obsessed with the duo thanks to the monstrous success of ‘Idol.’ Either way, we’ve got you covered with these three YOASOBI songs you need to check out!
‘Into The Night’
‘Into The Night’ is one of YOASOBI’s most popular tracks, as it should be! It took the number one spot on Spotify Japan’s Most Streamed Songs in Japan in the Last Five Years, with over 892 million streams! The juxtaposition of the bright, uplifting production and the devastatingly sad lyrics is just perfect.
‘Monster’
What kind of song is Coldplay best known for? Anthems! And what is YOASOBI’s ‘Monster?’ You guessed it, an anthem. We love the influences in this one, and the electronica breakdown really matches with the Music of the Spheres aesthetic! We need to see this song in a huge venue ASAP; if that means somehow getting ourselves to Tokyo Dome to see YOASOBI and Coldplay, so be it!
‘Idol’
Even if you’re just a casual listener of YOASOBI, we have a funny feeling you’ll know ‘Idol!’ It’s taking the world by storm, and rightly so. ‘Idol’ has amassed 200 million streams on the Billboard Japan chart, staying on the top spot for nine weeks in a row! Also, the OST for Oshi no Ko, ‘Idol’ is truly a global hit, with the English version reaching 18 million YouTube views in the first month!
If you haven’t listened to ‘Idol’ already, you need to catch up!
Are you streaming ‘Idol’ as much as we are? Or, even better, are you heading to see YOASOBI support Coldplay on tour? Let us know in the comment section below, or @TheHoneyPOP on Twitter! We’re also on Instagram and Facebook.
