Victoria Monét Talks Manifestation, New Music, Postpartum Depression, And More With Apple Music 1

The art of manifestation is a powerful practice. Particularly during the pandemic, when life was full of uncertainty, manifesting quickly became a hot topic. At The Honey POP!, we’re optimistic that things will fall into place if you believe in something and start making the right moves. Along with personal practice and social media, music has also embraced the concept of manifestation in various ways. For example, ‘Mastermind’ by Taylor Swift combines manifestation, hard work, and strategic moves. Similarly, ‘BREAK MY SOUL’ by Beyoncé highlights self-love and manifestation to building self-empowerment. These songs give us all motivation and uplift us through hard times. In a recent conversation with Apple Music 1, this is how Victoria Monét described her new single, ‘On My Mama.’

I think of the record as an anthem for affirmations, positive self-talk, manifestations, living in abundance, speaking things into existence, all of that is kind of in the song, but in a really cool hood way.

A Personal Manifestation Journey

In her latest conversation with Apple Music 1, Victoria revealed the latest single acted as a personal manifestation journey of overcoming postpartum depression. ‘On My Mama‘ was created just over two months after welcoming her newborn, Hazel, into the world in 2021. Finally, two years later, the song is out for us all to enjoy. It acts as a reminder of the importance of self-love. Despite disbelief surrounding these challenging times for the singer, we’re truly grateful she turned to music as a driving force to find solace.

Building A Positive Community

We’re bringing back the simple phrase here: quality over quantity. Victoria opened up to Apple Music about the challenges motherhood brought, particularly as an artist. Victoria Monét told Apple Music 1 about the importance of fostering a positive and supportive community during this time. Reflecting on her journey of creating music after becoming a mother and all the responsibilities that come with it, Victoria took a moment to appreciate her incredible team who helped turn what felt like the impossible possible.

Time is just the currency that you can’t get back, so it’s like, man, just, it really takes a team, and people who really support and believe in you.

We can relate to Victoria because we feel the importance of positive communities through fandoms. Just look at Harry Styles fans who attended Love On Tour! The atmosphere was beautiful, with people dancing alongside others who yesterday were strangers, immersed in the music. This is the same sense of togetherness Victoria refers to.

Dreaming Big

Achieving dreams starts by laying the groundwork for your plans to align. This is how Victoria made her collaboration on the track ‘Party Girls‘ a reality! The dance-infused song features the incredible Buju Banton. It’s a fan favorite for the summertime and packed with confidence. Witnessing this dream vision come to life has us feeling so proud of Victoria, and it’s remarkable how written manifestations work wonders. Let this story of speaking into existence serve as a gentle reminder for you to step out of your comfort zone and pursue a dream, whether big or small.

I wrote it down in the tracklist, I just said, featuring Buju. And I finally dropped my balls and reached out to him via DM, because I usually would not do that at all.
