EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Savings’ New EP, Get Well Soon

Last month, we told you how much we love Albuquerque emo band, Savings. We couldn’t get enough of their song, ‘American Psycho.’ So today, we’re so incredibly stoked to be premiering their new EP, Get Well Soon. It’ll be available for streaming everywhere on June 30th. But until then, you’re just going to have these YouTube audio videos on repeat.

“Get Well Soon is our most honest piece of music to date, we hope you love it half as much as we enjoyed making it. We wanted to challenge ourselves to write outside of the box on this project, and that’s exactly what we did. The record feels like a shift for us and we’re extremely excited to see how it’s reciprocated and share these moments with everyone.”

Sam Wilmot

Don’t get us wrong. Savings’ previous music is full of absolute bangers, but this EP just feels like an evolution for them. If you’re a fan of Free Throw, (which, who isn’t?!), trust us when we say that you’ll love this EP. Get Well Soon has similar vibes, while still being uniquely Savings.

Now, let’s get right into it since we have a lot to say /positive. Track one of the EP is ‘American Psycho,’ but because you already know how much we love it, all we have to say is, “Stream ‘American Psycho’ by Savings.”

‘You Mean To Tell Me a Head of Lettuce Sunk This Ship?’

Yes, this song was released earlier this month, but we’re going to talk about it. Judging by the funny and semi-irrelevant title, we thought this could potentially be a lighthearted song. But it’s not. After you process the lyrics, they hit you. Hard. Have we still been listening to it on repeat? Yes, and we’ll continue to do so.

‘Alter Ego’

We can’t get enough of this super high-energy song. Truly, the only way to listen to it is blasting it in the car and singing along with all of your friends. It would be so fun to hear live.

‘Chin Up, Champ!’

Honestly, we feel like this one is meant to be listened to on repeat while lying on your bedroom floor. That’s just the vibe it gives off and we respect it. This EP focuses on the highs and lows of life and this one definitely reflects the latter.

‘I Found a Date For The Holidays *Directors Cut*’

This released another version of this song, ‘I found a date for the holidays (maybe)’ in 2022. If you think it’s the same and you can skip over it: it’s not and you can’t. We vibed with the original and how it touches on mental health. But this is just an elevated version and we dig it.
