These Are The Iconic Demi Lovato Songs That We Think Need To Feature On Revamped

This year Demi Lovato has been delving back into their discography and giving some of their iconic songs a new leash of life to fit in her new rock sound. We first got ‘Heart Attack‘ back in March, followed by ‘Cool For The Summer‘ in May. Now we’ve received a third – ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ featuring Slash – and an announcement we had an inkling we may get: an album of previous songs will be getting the same treatment and feature on Demi’s latest project, Revamped!

Dropping on September 15th, Revamped will feature 10 songs re-imagining some of her most career-defining songs to fit their new sound.

Speaking in a press release about the album, Demi said: “With Revamped, I wanted to pay homage to the songs that resonated the most with fans and played a big role in my career by breathing an exciting new life into them. Creating this project has been incredibly fun and allowed me to express my passion for rock music in a new way, and I feel so much closer to my older music because of it. I can’t wait for everyone to hear more!”

We are thrilled with this idea and, with Demi’s extensive catalog of music spanning as far back as 2008, there’s potential for so many hits to choose from to feature on this album! Here at THP HQ, we have been thinking about which songs deserve a place on the album, and here’s what we’ve come up with…

‘Neon Lights’

Serving as the third single from their fourth album, Demi, ‘Neon Lights’ was a dance-electropop heavy song that ended up certified platinum in the US and was even the title of her 2014 tour. Neon aesthetic and dance music were really the trends back during its initial release, but with the evolution of music and trends, it would be interesting to see it brought into the present day. We think an instrument-heavy version of this song would just hit differently in the best way possible!

‘Fix A Heart’

Serving as a b-side from her 2011 album, Unbroken, ‘Fix A Heart’ is fueled with emotion and fragility in the aftermath of a breakup. We’ve loved it for over a decade, but with the new Demi Lovato sound, we can’t help but imagine what it would sound like with a more angsty side of the emotions. After all, heartbreak can evoke a lot of feelings and we can’t help but think that this song has the potential to thrive in a new genre. If this made it to Revamped, we low-key may cry.

‘Got Dynamite’

Another album track this time from their sophomore album, Here We Go Again, ‘Got Dynamite’ is a pop punk track blended with synthesizers. Though back in the Disney days, we felt like Demi was already pretty edgy. However, growing up, we’ve found that it was more of a PG version of edge. Giving her earlier songs, such as ‘Got Dynamite,’ a more grown-up approach to rocky vibes would feel almost like a full circle moment and make us feel like the badasses we thought we were when we were in our teens.

‘Sexy Dirty Love’

‘Sexy Dirty Love’ was the fourth single from the 2017 Demi Lovato album, Tell Me You Love Me. Full of groovy retro vibes and slick production, this cheeky number is fun and flirty. It’s a track that really gets your hips moving. But could you imagine a version with heavy rock vibes to get you headbanging instead? Because we sure can. From sexy grooves to dirty instruments, we think ‘Sexy Dirty Love’ would really fit well on Revamped and go hard during a live performance!

‘The Art Of Starting Over’

‘The Art Of Starting Over’ comes from Lovato’s 2021 album and contributes to the album’s title, Dancing With The Devil… The Art Of Starting Over. It’s a cathartic upbeat tune that marks a clean slate in Demi’s life. It feels like a breath of fresh air. But with her now also starting over with a new sound and making over the artist we’ve come to know as Demi Lovato, it makes sense for ‘The Art Of Starting Over’ to also be revamped and give it a double meaning.

‘Confident’

Serving as the title track of their 2015 album, ‘Confident’ is one of the big banger singles that made its mark on Demi’s discography. A bold and edgy pop song that gives sexy vibes, we would love to see it get the Revamped makeover exchanging the trumpets for guitar riffs.

‘Really Don’t Care’

‘Really Don’t Care’ featuring Cher Lloyd was a true staple to our early 2010s playlist. It served dance-pop realness with an “IDGAF” attitude that helped boost our confidence. The bustling energy delivered in this single has the potential to be transformed into big heavy rock vibes that would really bring the audience alive in a live performance. And, honestly, we think Demi should reintroduce Cher for the rap, too. Giving it a rap-rock element? Yes, please! Doesn’t that sound incredible?
