Here at THP, we’ve always known that Tate McRae is a queen but she’s out to prove it to everyone else! Over the past few weeks, she’s been booked and busy, to say the least. We’ve seen her debut on SNL, release ‘exes’ alongside its music video, and announce her sophomore album Think Later! Call us ‘greedy’ but we just can’t wait to see more from her. In the meantime, let’s catch up on all recent things Tate McRae.
‘exes’ Song And Video Release
Where do we even begin with this track? It’s incredible! ‘exes’ is one of those songs that you just have to play over and over again because you love it more each time. Tate has achieved pop perfection in the sound and the lyrics are so fun to sing along to! If you say you didn’t enjoy singing along to “Kisses to my exes. Oh I’m sorry, sorry that you love me. Changed my mind up like it’s origami” you’re lying.
Just when you thought this release couldn’t get better, we got a music video! Tate is an incredible performer so watching her dance in this video was an absolute joy. If you haven’t already, give it a watch below!
Tate Takes On SNL
Remember when Tate was just singing songs in her room and posting them to YouTube? Yeah, us too. Seeing Tate on SNL is so surreal and we couldn’t be more proud. While on the show she performed a skit with Jason Momoa and Chloe Fineman. She also sang two of her songs, ‘greedy’ the debut single from Think Later, and ‘grave.’ We couldn’t pick a favorite moment but we will say it’s all incredible.
Think Later Tour Announcement
If you’ve listened to ‘greedy’ or ‘exes’ and thought, wow, I need to hear this live. You’re in luck! Tate’s going on tour in 2024. This tour has some iconic venues on the lineup, including Madison Square Garden. The tour kicks off on April 17th in Dublin which will be the first of 53 dates! We’re so excited for Tate to hit the road and are hopeful she’ll showcase her dance ability. If you’re looking to buy tickets, you can find more information about doing so here.
Tate Talks Think Later With Zane Lowe
This interview is packed with discussion about topics like Tate’s debut album to who Tate feels she is on this record. The conversation centered around her upcoming album Think Later, which will be ours to stream on December 8th! If the album is anything like the singles we’ve gotten we know it’s going to be amazing. One of our favorite things Tate talked about is her personal growth between I Used To Think I Could Fly and Think Later. When Tate was asked about it she said this.
And now I’m talking about something that I was a year ago. And so then I just got to this point where I started writing and I’m like, okay, I need to try this in a different way. And I think that’s also just my own personal having fun with the writing process, is being like, how can I mix this up and make this more interesting for myself?
Tate McRae for Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1
With the music we’ve gotten so far, we can say with confidence that Tate having fun with her writing has paid off! She’s bringing pop back and we’re so here for it.
Tate has absolutely been killing it lately and we’re so excited to watch her grow! If you ask us, Tate is right on the edge of becoming a major pop star. If you haven’t already, make sure to pre-save her upcoming album, Think Later here.
