When a new K-Pop group debuts, there are quite a few bases they need to run on their path to global stardom. From their technical singing and rapping skills to amazing visuals and unbeatable work ethic, idols from YG Entertainment always impress us. Now we have some of our 5th gen leaders with BABYMONSTER! RUKA, PHARITA, ASA, RAMI, RORA, and CHIQUITA (and hopefully AHYEON soon!) are well on their way to becoming one of the latest superstar groups thanks to their official debut with ‘BATTER UP.’
BABYMONSTER fans first got to meet the group through their Last Evaluation series on YouTube, which challenged the girls to show off their performance skills and even get some pointers from BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Lisa. We’ve been so excited to hear their official debut, and we must say that ‘BATTER UP’ is a total home run, establishing BABYMONSTER as standout rookies who are well-equipped to fiercely take on the world stage!
“I’m on a mission, don’t need permission,” RAMI kicks off the song with a bang. Over the course of three minutes, BAEMON delivers hit after hit as they express their confidence and excitement to confront new challenges. We also want to give a shoutout to ASA, who has a co-writing credit on the song!
We had such high hopes for BABYMONSTER’s debut, especially after watching them excel in Last Evaluation, and ‘BATTER UP’ hit those hopes right out of the park. It’s such a powerful debut that’s been stuck in our heads ever since we heard it for the first time, and it’s a strong base for RUKA, PHARITA, ASA, RAMI, RORA, and CHIQUITA to build on in the coming years. We wish them monster success!
