November was filled with so many debuts and ended fittingly with one. Boy group ONE PACT came at us with their mini-album Moment and pulled us right into their fan circle. Now, we want to tell you more about these boys. And what’s the best way to get into a new artist than through their music? We’re here to help you out with that, and we’ll even throw in a small introduction to the members. Get ready to become one of their fans, or if you already are, then just enjoy the music with us.
The Members
Before we dive into their debut album Moment, we want to have a quick look at these boys, who are already faves of ours. Ready to stan Jongwoo, Jay Chang, Seongmin, TAG, and Yedam yet? If their names and faces are familiar to you, that’s because of one or a few reasons. All five ONE PACT members were contestants on the survival show Boys Planet, so if you know them from anywhere, this would be our safest bet. But that’s not all! Here are a few other reasons why you might be familiar with them.
Jongwoo
As someone who made it to the last round of Boys Planet and finished it by ranking No. 18, we feel leader Jongwoo is quite recognizable. While this was his only survival appearance, he did make a debut before in the group Black Level under the name Ze:U. As the first member of ONE PACT to be introduced, we felt it fitting to start with him.
Seongmin
Now, our next spotlight is on Seongmin. This boy already won a survival show which got him a spot in the group TO1. Back then, you probably knew him by his stage name Jerome. His departure from the group was a sad moment, but now we get a second chance with him in ONE PACT, and we are ecstatic and ready to support him again.
TAG
Did you know ONE PACT have a talented producer on their team? We introduce to you TAG, who you may best know from his former group, Ciipher. He took part in writing and composing most of the tracks on Moment, giving us a big taste of what he’s capable of.
Yedam
If you ask us why we’re introducing the youngest member second to last, it’s simply because we’re going by reveal order. Yedam took part in two survival shows, LOUD and Boys Planet. Finally, we got to see him debut and show us his forte. Are you also cheering him loudly?
Jay Chang
The last introduced member of ONE PACT was none other than Jay Chang. Aside from Boys Planet, he was previously a contestant on Under Nineteen, and a pre-debut member of M.O.N.T Arena. We were so happy when he made his official solo debut this October, and seeing him as a part of this new group has set our expectations even higher.
ONE PACT Is The Moment
Now that we got acquainted with the members, it is time to check out ONE PACT and some of the highlights from Moment. As we mentioned before, member TAG was a big part of the album production. Five out of the six songs have him listed in the credits, and if you listen to all of them, you’ll notice the range of genres that he tapped into. The result? Moment showcases different sides to ONE PACT right off their debut. Who wouldn’t enjoy a versatile track list like that?
‘Must Be Nice’
Time to check out their title track, ‘Must Be Nice!’ The song is about the strong desire to please one’s lover when they’re rather toxic, and also how nice it must be for them to have someone so willing to do their bidding. The song comes with an impactful and emotional music video, so if the lyrics and melody weren’t enough to tug on our heartstrings, trust us when we say the video will do it for you.
We are in our feels every time we listen to the song and watch its clip. We’re in a daze at the musical approach used to describe such an unhealthy relationship. The stunning choreography keeps our eyes glued on the screen, while the more intense scenes make our empathetic side come out.
‘G.O.A.T’
Prior to the release of Moment, ONE PACT teased us by revealing a few of their B-sides. They did not simply drop the songs, oh no. The boys wanted to make an impact(!), and let us say, they succeeded. We’re big fans of the side number ‘G.O.A.T’ and the performance video it came with. The song slowly builds up to its upbeat chorus, and we love every second of the experience. You know what else we love about it? The whole dance. Yes, this is us asking you to watch it because we know you’ll love it, maybe as much as we do.
‘RUSH IN 2 U’
We will close this off with another pre-released video, this time for ‘RUSH IN 2 U.’ This track comes as a self-made video and takes a softer spin overall, fitting for a fan song. ‘RUSH IN 2 U’ further proves the talent and stories we have yet to see from ONE PACT.
This new group has not only given a chance to its members but also to us, fans old and new. We are here to enjoy the good music while supporting our faves, and so far, ONE PACT are laying out a pretty good start. They are showing a lot of sides right off the bat through their debut, and we are excited for their future.
