Update as of 3/12/24: All Irish artists will no longer be performing at SXSW in solidarity with Palestine. We also will not be covering the music festival further. However, we still recommend listening to these amazing artists!
We didn’t think we could be any more excited for SXSW, but with the SXSW Irish Week showcase, there are so many amazing artists that are on the showcase taking place March 14th and 15th. We love how it’ll showcase multiple genres to truly give you a sense of the diverse music scenes of Ireland. Here are five artists that you should definitely check out.
Soda Blonde
If you didn’t already know, we stan Soda Blonde at THP. So we were stoked to hear that they’re on the Music From Ireland showcase! They’re such a fun alt-pop band and we guarantee that you’ll love them as well.

NewDad
NewDad is our NewFavoriteBand. We’re absolutely obsessed with their 90s alt vibe. Combined with airy vocals, it gives a dreamlike experience and it’ll leave you in a trance. Our favorite song? ‘Angel,’ which you can check out below.

Cardinals
You definitely need to make time to see indie-rock band, Cardinals. For a band that started off as a joke, it couldn’t be further from the truth in regards to their music. One of our favorites is ‘Unreal’ and we’ve been playing it on repeat.

Gavin James
Gavin James is an incredibly talented singer-songwriter. He just released a new song, ‘Lovesick’ and we’re definitely in our feels about this bittersweet song. Can we talk about the lyrics?! “I know I shouldn’t say it, but I really wish you knew that I’m better off in a universe away from you.”

Robert Grace
Last but not least, we’re excited to see alt-pop artist, Robert Grace. His song ‘Casper’ went viral on TikTok. As it should, considering it’s a super fun song with an infectious beat and clever lyrics. “My friends all call me Casper ’cause I ghost them all the time.” Super relatable.
