3 New Soulful Songs To Ease You Into Spring

Spring is here, but we don’t feel prepared quite yet. We tend to revel in the icy warmth of winter for far too long, but one exciting thing about springtime is new music releases! As the seasons change we tend to see more and more artists deciding to release new singles, albums, and full-length artistic projects. When we think of springtime, we think of soul and R&B music that carries us little honeybees to the newly blooming flower beds.

To ease you into the motions of springtime, tune into our three new favorite soulful tracks.

‘Leave It’ By Shanae

Leave all your wintertime worries at the door because Shanae has got the sunshine! Our first springtime recommendation is ‘Leave It.’ This song makes us feel as though we are lying under newly bloomed trees with a breeze trailing across our faces.

Shanae pushes the boundaries of the R&B genre with this track, one that has an intoxicating production with vocals that match the expectation of greatness that is tied to the R&B genre. The music video itself tells us everything we need to know about the singer. Simply put, it’s giving it girl vibes and is setting the standard for everything we want to be in this life – gorgeous, talented, and eating the best take-out meal.

Unfortunately, we will never leave this track alone. Fans of Halle Bailey and Kehlani will find Shanae’s music second nature to hit play on.

‘Okay, Alright’ By KIA

Our second soulful bloom is the transcending, multi-dimensional artist, KIA. KIA brings something different to the table that we can’t get enough of! This song is about finding oneself again after coming out of a period of loss and anger.

We used real recorded rain sounds when it was pouring in LA to set a mood, as well as some video game sounds that took me back to a moment in life where I felt smaller. There are subtle sound effects on the vocals that represent my deep, introspective thoughts.

Towards the end of the song, there is an awesome guitar solo that takes the track to the next level. The hidden instrumentals give the song life, and thanks to the live rain sounds, makes us feel like we are floating when we listen to it. If you loved this song, you’ll be excited when we tell you that KIA’s newest EP Retrospect is out now and has many more amazing songs like ‘Okay, Alright.’

Fans of Jojo and a more soulful version of Fergie will likely fall in love with KIA.

‘Still Working’ By Chel

We are ‘Still Working’ to find the flaws in Chel’s newest single. The song immediately entrances us with Chel’s dreamy opening vocals. The song is unlike anything we’ve ever heard before and blends many genres like R&B, African, Pop, and Soul (that’s the perfect blend of sounds for us!).

We can’t wait for this track to get an accompanying music video! We just know Chel’s beauty will take over the screen 😍.

I’ve never had to apologise to a man before about any serious wrong doings. I got sent this beat, and immediately thought about writing from that perspective. When a woman gets it wrong, when a woman loses a good man. Good thing it’s in a song, because I’d never say these things in real life!
