We at The Honey POP are huge indie rock stans, as you probably know by now. So it should come as no surprise that we are currently obsessed with Corella’s newest single, ‘Lady Messiah,’ the latest release from their upcoming debut album, Once Upon A Weekend, set to drop on May 3. ‘Lady Messiah’ is the fourth single from the album, following ‘Don’t Stop Me,’ ‘Head Underwater’ and ‘Drifting.’
Corella is a rising star band from Manchester made up of frontman Joel, bassist/vocalist Ben, guitarist Jack and drummer James. All four of them met while at university and have been making music together ever since. And we are so grateful that they found one another! Ever since their first single in 2016, titled ‘Waterfall,’ we knew Corella was something special, which makes us even more excited to hear their full debut album, Once Upon A Weekend next month.
In the band’s words, ‘Lady Messiah’ is a song “about a woman in your life who you idolise.” And we can all relate to that, can’t we? Everyone has a woman in their life that they see as a hero who deserves all the praise in the world.
And if you think Once Upon A Weekend is the only big thing Corella has planned for next month, think again! To celebrate their debut album, the band is going on tour through the UK!
