Here at the Honey POP, there’s one thing everyone knows about us: we’re fangirls. You know and we know just how much we love to support our favorite artists, many of whom we’ve been fans of for as long as we can remember. But just as much, we love to discover rising artists. Allow us to introduce you to LIVIA, Lily Williams, and more! These six that we’ve found for you will be huge soon. And you can say you knew them from day one.
LIVIA
For a debut EP, LIVIA’s Oculus is a fantastic soundtrack for any astrology fans. With a dreamy two-minute instrumental intro, we feel like we’re floating in space by the time ‘Through The Cracks’ introduces her whimsical vocals. And the music video captures exactly what goes through our minds as we listen to the song. The blurry background and dark forest almost makes us feel like we’re watching Twilight. We’ll let that one speak for itself.

Lily Williams
Lily Williams’ single ‘Losing My Accent’ almost makes us feel homesick for a place we never knew. This one leans country, and sings about the simultaneous love for a new place and longing for what once was home. We know both things can be true, and Lily succeeds in describing the feeling perfectly. This single proceeds the EP of the same name to be released August 8. We can’t wait to see what other themes she tackles.

Landon Conrath
To our readers who are still in their Midwest emo phase, allow us to introduce ‘How Does Forever Sound’ by Landon Conrath. He blends the classic style with a more modern alternative sound. So, for all past and present emo kids, we think this is exactly what you need to hear right now! His energetic riffs and dramatic lyrics are reminiscent of some of our favorite alternative/indie bands, but he adds his own twist to his songs. Check this song out now, because if you love it, you won’t want to miss Employee Of The Year, the album and tour headed your way this fall!

Alex Spencer
There’s Gotta Be More is the EP for those of you who love indie boys with a bit of edge. The title track of Alex Spencer’s EP ponders the reality of adulthood. As he deals with the transition from childhood to adulthood, he searches for meaning and passion in his life. We’re sure this is something many of us can relate to. Honestly, we’ll never tire of hearing songs about this topic. ‘Fear Will Kill The Future’ ends the EP on an optimistic note. This song’s call to action ensures that the story feels complete.

Sophie Powers
Sophie Powers describes her EP Glitch: Lvl 1 as “hyper-pop, industrial, and pop-punk.” Of course, the literal description hardly covers the magic of this EP. We feel like we’ve entered an alternate, pixelated reality in which our troubles are simply the plot of a video game. Or maybe we’re the star of a 2000s film in the scene where we’re dancing in a hazy club. Either way, we’re the main character when we listen to this EP. And the music isn’t the only cool thing about Sophie Powers- she is a fashion icon, and she makes all of her outfits!

GIRLBAND!
If you want another take on your relationship with your hometown (another theme we can’t get enough of), you may want to try ‘Heartbreak Town’ by Girlband! This trio tells their story with a rock/indie background. We can feel the love they have for their hometown, along with the complicated feelings of a changing world. What they loved about Nottingham may not be there anymore, or it may have changed. This is just one installment in Girlband!’s upcoming EP Heartbreak Town. And if they make us feel half as much as we did with this song, we know you’ll love this EP.
