The second we heard that Knuckle Puck announced a 10-year anniversary show for Copacetic, the only question on our minds was “What hotel are we booking?” You already know how much we love our OG cover stars, but this album is deeply personal to us as well. We would go as far as to say it’s quite possibly one of the best debut albums from a Midwest emo band in the scene.

There’s also something so beautiful about this not only being the biggest headlining show in their careers but also being a sold-out hometown show at that. The smiles on the entire band’s faces only made the night that much more enjoyable as a fan. And we’re willing to go on record and say this might just be one of their best performances to date.
We’ve Got A Lot To Talk About
Copacetic is cover-to-cover bangers, or should we say ‘Wall to Wall’ bangers? Either way, there isn’t a single song on this album we weren’t foaming at the mouth to hear live. But when we say each song exceeded any expectations we might have had for it, we mean it. We especially want to shout out the harmonies in ‘Pretense.’ Our jaws are still on the floor from how they brought these songs to life as if they had written them just the night prior.

Some of our personal highlights from the Copacetic portion of their set also include, ‘In Your Crosshairs,’ ‘Disdain,’ and ‘Evergreen.’ And how could we not mention the Dan Lamberton, former lead singers of their blood pact brothers Real Friends, coming out to sing part of ‘Evergreen?’ They knew what they were doing with that one and consider us grateful. And if you saw us crying during ‘In Your Crosshairs,’ no you didn’t.
Was It All We Bartered For?
Yes, yes it was! Not only did we hold onto every second of ‘Untitled’ live, hoping it would never end, but the second part of Knuckle Puck’s set was only filled with more bops. We had a joke amongst our hive that the band was going to whip out ‘Bedford Falls’ for this performance, which given their track record of barely playing it live, was a killer joke! So imagine the look on our faces when Mr. Joe Taylor said “This is ‘Bedford Falls.'” into his microphone.
If we can also be candid, we’re huge ‘You & I’ stans. Which you might have put together from our question about the track in our magazine cover interview with the band. So consider this our formal thank you to Knuckle Puck for picking a killer 8 songs to close out this 10-year show with.

What Goes Around, Comes Around
We can’t wait for another 10 years of Knuckle Puck. And we’d be lying if we said we aren’t already starting our personal campaign for a 10-year anniversary Shapeshifter show in 2027. But we need them to play the Calendar Days EP too if this happens, mainly so we can cross hearing ‘Indecisive’ off our bucket lists.
