Honeybees, we are so back, and so is MARINA. One thing we love about our pop-goddess is how she takes the time she needs to curate a new album and era for us Diamonds perfectly. ‘Butterfly’ is MARINA’s first release since 2022, and it’s absolute pop-perfection. We’ve already learned it word for word and are polishing our choreography right now in case MARINA’s in need of any backup singers for her upcoming performances.
This is just the beginning of the M6 era, by the way. MARINA has confirmed multiple performances at festivals like Coachella, World Pride Music Festival, The Gov Ball, and more for this year! This means not only are we going to get to hear ‘Butterfly’ live, but we’re likely to get even more music beforehand. If attending festivals solely to sing every song MARINA performs word for word was illegal, we’d be behind bars.

Now, let’s talk about the lyrics of ‘Butterfly.’ When we heard the line, “But I won’t let nobody treat me like you do,” our jaws fell to the floor. Followed by the pre-chorus line, “Watch me grow from afar as I turn into a butterfly. Now I’m leaving you behind.” Um, can we get some pens in the chat?!
Oh, and the chorus?! Talk about something that is so worthy of being stuck in your head all day. We are shaking our hips while we sing this entire song to ourselves in the mirror today, and well, forever!
