It’s been almost two months since the release of EVNNE’s comeback with ‘HOT MESS,’ and we still haven’t moved on from this incredible era and the amazing music they gave us. ‘HOT MESS’ is their most fun and authentic comeback yet, where they showed their goofy side and highlighted their chemistry as a group on stage more than ever before. ‘HOT MESS’ remains so memorable for this year’s releases, and now we have the chance to revisit the release all over again. In true EVNNE fashion, they released two remixes of the title track, one by h4rdy and another by HANAEL. Both give a new life to the song in different ways. And to celebrate, we’re looking back at some of our favorite performances of ‘HOT MESS’ by EVNNE!
First Comeback Stage
The first comeback stage on music shows is always extra special. After performing the song for the first time at their comeback showcase, EVNNE performed ‘HOT MESS’ at MCountdown. The first comeback stage at music shows will always capture the energy of the song even better, and that’s just what happened. It’s even better with ‘HOT’ due to its bright, colorful, and fun energy. With ENNVE doing the fan-chant, the gorgeous styling, and the impactful stage set, this performance of ‘HOT MESS’ remains the one we think about the most. EVNNE are incredible performers; they brought their unique aura to the stage and made us have fun with them every time. This first stage captures what the ‘HOT MESS’ era was all about perfectly.
It’s LIVE
While EVNNE are incredible all-rounder performers, it is nice to have performances when they focus solely on giving us the best vocals possible—and they deliver every single time. The band version in its LIVE is always something to look forward to with any comeback, but especially for ‘HOT MESS.’ The arrangement gives the song even more energy and power, and it fits the impact of their vocals perfectly. Seeing how they include elements of the choreography into their performance makes it even more fun and dynamic to watch. Something about ‘HOT MESS‘ is that it’s a perfect embodiment of their dynamic as a group, and seeing it performed freely simply feels like the right way to listen to it. You can tell EVNNE loves this song as much as we do.
Off The Stage
But of course, as all-rounders, EVNNE are also incredible dancers. The Studio Choom performance deserves all the attention, but if we had to pick favorites between the dance-focused performance videos, this one has to be it. The lighting, the cozy setting, and the outfits make the song feel even more authentic to EVNNE. It gives it a youthful, simple, fun vibe. The way the choreography is filmed is simply perfect, and it allows you to catch every single detail they included in this performance—and believe us, there’s a lot.
Encore Stage
This era had many memorable moments, but by far, its height was when ‘HOT MESS’ earned EVNNE‘s third music win. On February 21st, ‘HOT MESS’ won its first win in Music Bank, and a win always means an encore. Something EVNNE will always do is eat up an encore stage. The excellence of the vocals, the absolute joy their entire aura gives off, and the interaction with ENNVE are things that make this stage pure and unforgettable. If, for some reason, you haven’t fallen in love with ‘HOT MESS’ or EVNNE yet, this is the stage that will make you understand why so many people love them so much (as they should.)
