The hive is in full celebration mode: The coolest K-Pop group is back! We have been counting down the days since we heard that a P1Harmony comeback was getting closer and closer. We were craving to fill a space in our playlists that had their name on it. The wait was so worth it, though! Our six favorite boys are back better than ever with DUH!, a mini album full of bops, boldness, fun energy, and musical creativity. KEEHO, THEO, JIUNG, INTAK, SOUL, and JONGSEOB knew they had to create our newest obsession, and they’ve totally slayed at that! It’s truly P1Harmony’s most iconic release yet!
P1Harmony keeps on surprising us with their freshness in every release. They constantly explore different genres to broaden their artistry without losing their signature identity, which makes them a unique and dynamic group that we adore and cherish. All the tracks from this comeback sound completely new, but also completely P1Harmony. The members constantly look for distinctive sounds to add to their discography. They all have a chance to shine in the creative aspects of this comeback, whether that is on the concepts, the styling, the lyrics, the self-composed raps by the two rappers, the composition of the new songs, the choreography, or the performances for this era. Every single detail from DUH! has left us speechless!
Can you tell we couldn’t wait to get our hands on this release? We’ve been waiting to enjoy every song at 100% volume! Now that we’ve hyped up the comeback for a bit, let’s get down to the chase and talk about every track from DUH! and how the P1Harmony boys keep outdoing themselves every time!
‘DUH!’
Pressing play on this comeback means that you’re in for a treat! P1Harmony is truly a group that never misses with their title tracks, and they’re keeping their flawless streak going with this new banger. ‘DUH!’ is extremely catchy, and it reminds us of old school hip-hop with its instrumental and the crazy verses from our two rappers. They’re not the only ones that rap on the track though! JIUNG has a few parts where he raps incredibly well to the beat! If there is something that P1Harmony does, it’s releasing the greatest bridges ever and, of course, this title song includes one that’s insanely good! This playful title track also includes so many fun dance moves, like the signature ‘DUH!’ hand move and SOUL’s incredible moment in the center during the last chorus. Have we convinced you that this song is absolutely amazing? Like, ‘DUH!,’ it’s the best song ever!
The best title track has to deliver the best music video, and P1Harmony never plays about their visuals and aesthetics for every era! The ‘DUH!’ video is definitely the best one they’ve done, with so many details to their hero lore, their group dynamics and power, and references to the message of the comeback and previous releases. The sets and scenes are fast-paced and extremely fun, so we definitely recommend you watch it multiple times to catch all the little things they’ve included! Our personal favorite parts include the bits with the kids, the pictures taken with a DSI, and the many incredible looks featured throughout it (we need those plain white tees ASAP!). Our “G.O.A.T” never disappoint!
‘Pretty Boy’
Groovy with Afrobeats on top, ‘Pretty Boy’ follows the title track in this comeback. Just by knowing its title, we knew it was going to be legendary! We’re not only in awe of the song’s rhythm, but also of its meaning. ‘Pretty Boy’ was created by KEEHO to fight against toxic masculinity. Calling boys “pretty” can sometimes result in a backhanded compliment, as it’s tied to men being fragile and not masculine enough, and this track wants to embrace that label and add confidence to it fully. P1Harmony are absolutely owning the fact that they’re pretty boys with lyrics like “Pretty girls like pretty boys like me” and “The image that you called / say it out loud, don’t sugarcoat / as you think of, describe me / it’s already spoken out (can you tell we love how THEO sounds in this track?).” It’s such a good song and has already become a classic for us!
‘Murmur’
The unmatched flow that only P1Harmony has truly shines with ‘Murmur!’ This song is dedicated to all those who want to mess with their unstoppable success. Words and gossip just turn into murmurs when it’s time to say them out loud, and they’re sick of that cowardly behavior. Just like they say, “You know the beat keeps playing, my boys keep slaying / that’s happening no matter, what you sayin’ now.” They’re sticking to creating the best music and sitting down those that come their way! The instrumental fits right in with this vibe, especially at the beginning of the track. It truly sends chills down our spine! We must also mention the most unforgettable part of the song: the bridge and JONGSEOB’s “I hate these guys” line. So, so good!
‘Flashy’
Our favorite group will always deliver a jaw-dropping concert anthem in every era, and ‘Flashy’ definitely accomplishes that mission in DUH! This “ten outta ten” song was composed by JIUNG, which is a totally different style from ‘Last Call,’ the song he composed for their last comeback. While ‘Last Call’ had the perfect tone for the encores, ‘Flashy’ has a punchier rhythm, and it gets us all hyped with the guitars and the high notes! It also follows the confident and spectacular aura that P1Harmony has shown us throughout this release. It’s best to do your own thing and reach the top while ignoring every voice that might step in your way. We can only describe this track as an iconic bop, and we honestly can’t wait to let our hair loose and have the time of our lives while listening to this song live!
‘Over And Over’
If you’re looking for a sassy instrumental, ‘Over and Over’ has that for you. The saxophone is the protagonist in this track, and we feel like it layers so well with the hip-hop feel of the chorus, which symbolizes how our boys always get right back up when facing hardships. There’s nothing that can bring them down! Every member has a spectacular part in this song, so ‘Over and Over’ is an absolute highlight for us from this release. We can’t get over KEEHO’s voice in his verse for this track (our favorite from this comeback), nor the flow of both INTAK and JONGSEOB during their raps!
We also have to shout out to the dance break from the album sampler that is in our minds 24/7. The choreography was made by INTAK to introduce the track with JIUNG, and it’s absolutely incredible! We will never get over it, and we can’t wait to see the whole dance once the group performs it!
‘Work’
We have been anticipating this track since we heard it on the preview trailer for this comeback. We were so surprised by how daring the group was with the bold hyperpop tones, and we’re so happy that it’s finally ours! JONGSEOB, the genius maknae, was the one in charge of the composition for this track, and he created it to show more of P1Harmony’s diversity. They truly can slay every single genre! ‘Work’ is so addicting, and it has included so many fun elements (such as the members’ raspy voices and vocal layering with electronic beats) that make it the perfect finale for the release (until we press play on it all over again!).
Among the things we love from this track, we have to mention a little reference to a previous track from SAD SONG in the lyrics for ‘Work.’ There’s a brief shoutout to ‘Welcome To’ vibes with the line “Welcome to the show,” and it brings us back for a short moment to that song. It’s so fun how P1Harmony’s work can be connected throughout their comebacks, even if the tracks are polar opposites production-wise!
With this life-changing comeback, we can confirm once again that P1Harmony is full of talented and passionate members who are not afraid of delivering new beats and tracks. We can’t get enough of DUH!, and we’re so happy that we can keep following the contagious happy energy from our favorite boys as they keep evolving and exploring more ways to make their discography the most memorable of them all!
