Henry Moodie has opened the door to his story so far, exploring everything from love and heartbreak to friendship, mental health, and the messy magic of growing up. In his latest album, Mood Swings, every mood literally has its own moment. The project feels like an emotional playlist that can get you through just about anything you’re going through in the most inspiring way. It’s raw, it’s honest, and it’s oh-so Henry that we just have to break it down.
One Album, Every Feeling
As the title suggests, the latest album by Henry Moodie Mood Swings is what we can only describe as a personality test set to music. Each song holds different energy, a new shade of emotion, and a story we’ve all lived in our own way. Along with being an album exploring emotions, it’s also an ode to youthfulness. From the literal swings Henry sits on in the album artwork, to the visualizers set in British parks, it already holds so much nostalgia that will withstand the test of time.

‘Mood Swings’
If you’re feeling a little chaotic but hopeful, the title track, ‘Mood Swings,’ sets the tone perfectly. It’s open-hearted, restless, and beautifully self-aware. Kind of like reading your own journal and realizing how much you’ve actually grown. It’s also the perfect first song for anyone new to Henry Moodie’s world. Whether this is your first time listening or you’ve been along for the ride, you’ll feel the self-reflective pull right from the intro: “Tell me a bit about yourself,” followed by Henry’s raw answer, “Grew up in London, only got one friend.”
We think it perfectly captures what our twenties feel like … what social media calls The Panic Years. As Henry admits, “I’m so tired of being twenty-something, I’m always feeling everything but nothing.” Like, yes king, we felt that. Even though the lyrics are vulnerable and real but one thing we love is how the beat stays optimistic and groovy, giving us a sense of hope that is explored later in the album.
‘Right Person, Wrong Time’
Then there’s ‘Right Person, Wrong Time,’ the kind of heartbreak anthem you play when you’re sitting in the car, staring out the window, doing a little self-reflection. Henry captures that universal ache of timing gone wrong, giving us lyrics anyone can relate to. Whether it’s about a friend or a lover. His vocals are crisp and clear over a softer, acoustic sound, and we love the quiet optimism of lines like: “I don’t know why, But I still believe our stars will align, ’Cause I’m just the right person, wrong time.”
‘Sunday Morning’
‘Sunday Morning’ feels like a safe space in song form. It’s tender and reflective, like sunlight peeking through your curtains after a long week. It captures the joy of being young and free on a weekend, while reminding us that feeling everything in your twenties is both the curse and the beauty of growing up.
‘Comedown’
If you’re craving catharsis, ‘Comedown’ takes you through the emotional afterglow of love, loss, and everything in between. It’s about that dizzying high of connection and the crash that follows when reality creeps back in. Instead of feeling the ‘comedown’ Henry admits he’s not ready for it, and again this different perspectives on feelings is what we adore about this album. On another note, we’re already bracing ourselves for the post-tour ‘comedown,’ because nothing will top hearing these songs live.
‘Indigo’
Then there’s ‘Indigo,’ which glows with dreamy warmth. It’s the perfect track for when you’re feeling soft and nostalgic. It continues the story of ‘Drunk Text,’ a song Henry wrote at just 18, for anyone who’s ever lost the one that got away. ‘Indigo’ becomes a metaphor for that person’s eyes, their energy, their vibe. With lyrics like, “I’d spend forever so lost in your eyes, Float through the indigo for all of time, That shade of blue should be some kind of crime,” it’s safe to say indigo is officially our new favorite color.
“‘Mood Swings’ is an album that captures the chaos, beauty, and heartbreak I’ve experienced over the past few years. Each track reflects a different side of me, a different mood, and a different moment in time.” – Henry Moodie on ‘Mood Swings’
That honesty is what makes this record feel special. It’s not afraid to sit in sadness, celebrate love, or dance through confusion, it just feels human.
