If you’re on K-Pop Twitter or TikTok, you’ve probably seen a lot of chat around XLOV’s Europe tour. We’re here, though, to cut through the noise and focus on what matters most: the members’ professionalism and talent. We were thrilled to attend an XLOV concert! Here’s how it went!
Quality Over Quantity
As many K-Pop fans know all too well, sometimes we’re forced to love idols from afar. Especially in the early days of their careers, perhaps when budgets aren’t there yet, and artists aren’t sure of their international demand yet. However, XLOV didn’t make European fans wait, embarking on one of the most extensive European tours we’ve seen from a K-Pop act, just a year after their debut.
With this ambitious 14-stop tour so early in their career, naturally, that means that XLOV don’t have the biggest discography to pull from (yet!). However, though small, their catalog is mighty. Every song they’ve released so far made it onto the Europe tour setlist, from ‘Rizz’ to ‘Biii:-P,’ and we couldn’t have been more grateful for that.
Covers
As if spoiling us with their entire discography wasn’t enough, XLOV also sprinkled their setlist with a variety of covers across the tour. The night we went, we were treated to Wumuti and Hyun covering Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds,’ and Rui and Haru doing a dance performance to ‘Hit & Run.’ And if that wasn’t enough, we also got an OT4 cover of BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls!’
Choreography
XLOV’s choreography has a reputation all of its own. And it deserves it, too! XLOV’s genderless concept shines at its brightest through their performances, and with how much they’ve perfected all their choreography details, you know that leader Wumuti is keeping that practice room locked in.
Even sweeter, the choreographer for XLOV’s ‘1&Only’ was in the audience at the show we went to! XLOV brought them onstage to perform, and they filmed this super cute TikTok below:
Overall, we absolutely loved seeing what a glamorous, inclusive, and structured performance XLOV delivered. Not only did they put on a great show, but it was also clear to see that things are only going to get bigger and better for this group.
