It’s officially festival season! We hear all about Coachella and Lollapalooza headliners, among many other music festivals. But it’s about time we shine some light on book festivals, too!
As we close out March and head into the height of spring, we’re keeping an eye out for book festivals and book fairs around our city. Luckily, the next few months have plenty of bookish activities in store for us. So whether you’re on the East Coast, West Coast, or somewhere in between, we got you. Here are five upcoming book festivals to have on your radar!
San Antonio Book Festival – San Antonio, Texas
Date: April 11, 2026
Kicking off our roundup of book festivals is the 14th annual San Antonio Book Festival! A free, all-day event held in downtown San Antonio, this festival offers book signings, panel discussions, children’s activities, and plenty of food and drink vendors. Over 100 authors will attend, including Gabriella Gamez, Xan Kaur, Angela Montoya, Dustin Thao, and Julian Winters!

BAM! Festival – West Palm Beach, Florida
Date: April 11, 2026
If you’re not around Texas in April, don’t worry! Moving over to the East Coast, we have the annual BAM! Festival in downtown West Palm Beach. It is a free and family-friendly books, art, and music festival. BAM! Festival features panels and interactive events focusing on children and teen audiences. Authors we look forward to seeing there include Tiffany D. Jackson, Ginny Myers Sain, and Amar Shah!

BookCon – New York City, New York
Dates: April 18-19, 2026
BookCon in New York City truly is the highlight of the book festival season! It’s a two-day event at the Javits Center featuring author chats, book swaps, and immersive experiences. The star-studded guest lineup speaks for itself: Cassandra Clare, Chloe Gong, Holly Black, Victoria Aveyard, and so many more! Tickets may already be sold out for 2026, but that won’t stop us from keeping up with news about it.

YALLWEST – Santa Monica, California
Dates: April 24-25, 2026
Let’s switch over to the West Coast. Held at the Santa Monica High School, YALLWEST is a young adult and middle grade book festival founded by Margaret Stohl and Melissa de la Cruz. Attendees can look forward to free events, signings, and panel discussions, as well as low-cost, ticketed headliner events. In addition to the main event on Saturday, YALLWEST has a special preview at the Santa Monica Public Library on Friday.

Black Girl Book Fair – Virtual
Dates: April 25, 2026
If you aren’t able to travel to any of these major cities, we got you! The Black Girl Book Fair is a free virtual event for adults. It celebrates Black voices in fantasy fiction and features live shopping, giveaways, and author hangouts. Ticket holders can also expect virtual goodie bags from the diverse manga publisher Saturday AM. Guest speakers include Taylor Cassidy, Ayana Gray, Stephanie Williams, and more!
