We at THP could never have too much diversity in our TBR! So, we took it upon ourselves to put together a June book roundup highlighting diverse books and authors. You may recognize some of these names or even find your new favorite author! Either way, we’re here for it.
These upcoming book releases gave us diverse BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ casts that we absolutely loved reading about. From the ancient Inca Empire to modern-day England, pick your next reading destination. Here are three diverse June books to add to your list!

Kicking off our list of diverse June books is Breakout. What a star-studded lineup of Black female authors this book has! Breakout is a YA thriller set on an exclusive luxury resort off the coast of Florida. Six so-called friends are trying to leave last year’s tragedy in the past and have the ultimate spring break. Their Will Undone By R.J. Valldeperas
The next diverse June read is R.J. Valldeperas’ debut YA fantasy, Their Will Undone! The book is inspired by the story of the Inca Maiden of Llullaillaco and is the first in a fantasy duology (with a cliffhanger ending). Their Will Undone takes us back to the Inca Empire, where seventeen-year-old Nina gets chosen to be the emperor’s new wife. As the emperor’s trusted friend and solder, Kasik must bring Nina back to the capital unharmed. But dangers abound throughout their journey, bringing the two of them closer than either could’ve expected. Kasik’s mission tests his honor. And Nina discovers powers she never knew she had.

Winners & Liars By Aleema Omotoni
Finally, we recommend Aleema Omotoni’s standalone mystery, Winners & Liars! This book has a stunning backdrop of a Victorian-era English estate, as well as the rush of a high-stakes inheritance competition.
