There’s no denying that so many K-Pop artists, especially in 4th and 5th Gen, are influenced by BTS! As ARMY ourselves, there’s nothing we love more than seeing our faves love our other faves, too! Well, actually, maybe there’s one thing we love more… when idols take their stanning to new heights, by covering Bangtan’s songs! Here are some of our fave BTS covers to date.
ATEEZ – ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’
We had no choice but to start with ATEEZ! Wooyoung is a certified Jimin fan, to such an extent that ATINY used to give him merch all the time at fansigns. This cover of ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’ suits all of ATEEZ, but especially Wooyoung, who covered Jimin’s parts. And, let’s not forget that BTS were in the audience for this cover, too!
LE SSERAFIM’s KAZUHA – ‘Standing Next To You’
Not many people could handle the dance break in ‘Standing Next To You,’ but KAZUHA certainly can! We feel like this solo BTS cover opened a lot of people’s eyes to KAZUHA’s talent, which is exactly what she deserves.
TXT – ‘DNA’
Of course, BTS’ direct juniors, TXT, had to be included! They’ve covered Bangtan a bunch of times, from ‘Dynamite’ to ‘Boy In Luv’ to the much lesser-known Yeonjuniz cover stage of ‘Dope.’ However, our clear favorite has to be ‘DNA!’ Beomgyu covering Taehyung’s low vocals will live rent-free in our minds forever.
Stray Kids – ‘Dionysus’
‘Dionysus’ is one of BTS’ most grand, theatrical performances, with arguably the best choreography they’ve ever had. Thank goodness we can trust Stray Kids to do it justice! Complete with the Last Supper-esque staging, both the BTS original and Stray Kids’ cover are masterpieces.
LOONA – ‘Not Today’
Like ‘Dionysus,’ ‘Not Today’ is a BTS performance of epic scale! We have always had a soft spot for LOONA’s ‘FIRE’ dance cover, but their performance of ‘Not Today’ has to be the best BTS x LOONA crossover moment! Side note: We cannot believe BTS used to perform ‘Dionysus’ and ‘Not Today’ back-to-back to open their tour show.
YEONJUN – ‘3D’
The 4th Gen It Boy meets the Golden Maknae! Yeonjun absolutely devoured this cover of Jungkook’s ‘3D,’ and we all thank him for it. Also, here’s your reminder that Jungkook is closer in age to Yeonjun than he is to any of BTS’ hyung line. Yes, that hurts our brains, too.
ZHANG HAO – ‘Epiphany’
From BTS’ youngest to their eldest! ‘Epiphany’ is a Love Yourself b-side that is truly treasured by ARMYs, so we’re so glad that two of the best vocalists tackled this cover! Lee Mujin and AND2BLE’s leader ZHANG HAO do Jin’s iconic vocals justice!
&TEAM – ‘RUN’
&TEAM have covered BTS more times than we can count! Our absolute favorite is their version of ‘MIC Drop,’ but we’re highlighting a different one today. This performance of ‘RUN,’ from their rookie year, highlights the passion and determination that &TEAM carry, which reminds us of baby Bangtan, too!
BOYNEXTDOOR – ‘DOPE’
Look, we almost didn’t wanna talk about this cover. Not because it isn’t great (it’s incredible), but because any whisper of BTS and BOYNEXTDOOR on the internet, and suddenly Jungkook appears to torture his number one fanboy, BND’s leader Jaehyun. But this version of ‘DOPE’ is just too good to ignore! Collab stage when?
ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon And IVE’s Wonyoung – ‘Butter’
We know that so many BTS covers are fierce and formidable, but let’s finish with something a bit cuter! From their time as Music Bank MCs, Sunghoon and Wonyoung’s cover of ‘Butter’ was the definition of a viral performance!
