We at THP never thought we’d see the day when Fairy Tail press makes its way into our inbox. But just know that email activated something inside of our brains, and our obsession is back in full force. The Fairy Tail manga hits its 20th anniversary this December, so we need to celebrate it big!
For longtime fans, now’s your chance to break out all of your old Fairy Tail merch, manga, anime DVDs, and collectibles. (Yes, all of them!) We won’t let a single thing go unnoticed this year. You still have a couple of months to prepare, so here are five ideas to get you started!
1. Reread Your Favorite Arcs
How can we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Fairy Tail manga if we don’t revisit the actual manga? Go back to the kingdom of Fiore where it all started. An aspiring mage meets a dragon slayer, and the rest is history! You can reread the series from the beginning or feel free pick out your favorite story arcs. (The Battle of Fairy Tail and Grand Magic Games, we’re looking at you!)
2. Find Some Fairy Tail-Inspired Tattoo Ideas
If you’ve been on the fence about getting a tattoo inspired by Fairy Tail, then take this as a sign for you to drop that deposit! The 20th anniversary is a huge milestone, and you can surely find a variety of tattoo ideas out there, from subtle character icons to zodiac key designs. Of course, you could also get the classic Fairy Tail guild symbol or another guild symbol of your choosing.
3. Throw A Themed Watch Party
While the Fairy Tail anime‘s 20th anniversary isn’t technically until 2029, we can bend the rules this time. Gather your fellow guild members and throw the ultimate watch party. Stock up on all the beverages; we’re talking barrels of ale, bottles of wine, and handcrafted cocktails and mocktails. You can also find food and dessert recipes inspired by your favorite characters. After all, a little strawberry cake never hurt anyone.
4. Cosplay As Your Favorite Character
Another way you can celebrate Fairy Tail‘s 20th anniversary is by cosplaying as your favorite character. Whether you pull up to the watch party in full cosplay or your local anime convention or even the next Halloween party, the world is your oyster. The best part is that there are hundreds of characters to pick from and dozens of ships (canon and otherwise) if you want to make it a couple’s costume.
5. Listen To The Newest Fairy Tail Vinyls
Finally, we have one of the best things about being a Fairy Tail fan in 2026: the iconic anime soundtrack. To officially celebrate the 20th anniversary, Fairy Tail will be releasing three vinyls compiling openings and endings from the anime’s first season on December 16. Make sure to pre-order now and mark your calendars for the drop. We can’t wait to get our hands on these gorgeous, colorful vinyls!
