You know we love K-Pop. And you know we love Halloween. So is it really that surprising that we would combine the two and make a Halloween playlist featuring our favorite 3rd gen K-Pop songs? There’s a lot of 3rd gen songs that fit the haunting vibes we love so much, so let’s get to it!
‘VOODOO DOLL’ – VIXX
No other song could be first on our list than ‘Voodoo Doll’ by VIXX. It’s dark, it’s obsessive, and the MV depicts the creepy vibes perfectly (and graphically, so be warned). The instrumental paired with the lyrics about doing literally anything (even getting hurt) for the object of one’s affection makes for a perfect Halloween playlist song.

‘어린애 (Girls) (Uncensored Ver.)’ – NATURE (네이처)
‘Girls’ may be about vulnerability and feeling like a child in the face of love, but the vibes of the song and music video earned it a spot on our playlist. It’s eerie, it’s a little scary, and it gives off a haunted house type of vibe that is just enough to keep us on the edge of our seats.

‘Oh my god’ – i-dle
Once again, i-dle is present on our Halloween playlist. What can we say? The girls always deliver whenever the subject is spooky vibes and great songs. We love the eeriness of this song and music video exploring the contrast between light and darkness. It gives off the perfect Halloween vibes.

‘Scream’ – Dreamcatcher
A rock/EDM sound paired with a music video that looks straight out of a witch movie could only result in a permanent spot on our Halloween playlist. If you ever want to have the feeling of running through a haunted forest trying to escape the dangers that only come out at night, then this is the Dreamcatcher song for you.

‘Monster’ – SEVENTEEN
SEVENTEEN know how to make a great Halloween track; that’s just facts. ‘Monster’ sounds like the type of song that could be playing at a haunted house, and we mean that as a compliment. Especially since it’s a huge empowerment anthem that uses monsters such as goblins, Dracula, and Frankenstein as a metaphor for embracing your uniqueness instead of being afraid to show it.

‘HWAA’ – i-dle
You cannot look us in the eye and tell us this song doesn’t scream “Halloween.” Maybe not in the traditional sense because the music video does bring more of a winter-y vibe, but the overall themes and aesthetics used by i-dle do feel very appropriate for Halloween, in our opinion.
‘RBB’ – Red Velvet
One of our all-time favorite Red Velvet music videos has got to be ‘RBB.’ Its Halloween theme has earned it a permanent spot in every Halloween playlist we ever make. We love going back to it to try and find all the spooky references throughout the video. Plus, it’s an absolute banger!

‘Tales Of The Unusual’ – PinkFantasy
From the moment we heard this song, we knew we had to include it. ‘Tales Of The Unusual’ is exactly as the name suggests: unusual, slightly creepy, and the type of song we couldn’t leave out of our playlist. These girls know how to mix scary and sexy in the best way possible.

‘Monster’ – Irene & Seulgi
Yes, we know their unit debuted in 2020 which technically makes it 4th gen. But Irene and Seulgi are both members of a 3rd gen group, so we’re counting it, especially because we couldn’t miss the opportunity to have ‘Monster’ here. The slower, more sultry song depicts an obsessive relationship in a dark yet sexy aesthetic that keeps us wanting more the longer we listen to it. Another perfect song for Halloween if you ask us.
‘Villain’ – Key
Key as a ‘Villain,’ you say? Sign us up! His song with Jeno of NCT is all about subverting the expectations and doing what you want, and if that makes you the villain? Then so be it. You can be who you want during this spooky season, so don’t let others hold you back. In our opinion, that fits perfectly with the vibes of Halloween.

‘Obsession’ – EXO
‘Obsession’ by EXO explores the theme of getting one’s life back after breaking free from a suffocating presence. That message paired with the music video’s darker aesthetic and the members fighting evil versions of themselves just bring the perfect vibes to a Halloween playlist. Also, we want to steal half of these outfits, if we’re honest.

’Red Sun’ – Dreamcatcher
Going all the way back to Dreamcatcher’s first full length album, ‘Red Sun’ fits the description of “perfect K-Pop song for Halloween” to a tee. These girls are like witches putting a spell on all of us, and we cannot stop listening to this song.
‘Peek-A-Boo’ – Red Velvet
An absolute Halloween K-Pop classic! We could never make this playlist without mentioning ‘Peek-A-Boo’ by Red Velvet. Putting a fun twist on the Halloween concept and pulling it off so effortlessly is something only these girls could do, and we’re so glad they did it.
‘Don’t Go Insane’ – DPR Ian
No one does eerie and spooky vibes like DPR Ian does, which is probably why we could think of several songs by him that could fit into this playlist. But ‘Don’t Go Insane’ just has that perfect fit for it. From the outfit to the visuals, he’s got Halloween in the bag! Just watch the MV and see for yourself.

‘Monster’ – EXO
Did you think we’d forget this masterpiece? Never! ‘Monster’ is an absolute classic, and no Halloween playlist is complete without it. The spooky season is all about monsters and mythical creatures, and EXO delivered those exact vibes in ‘Monster.’ We play this song all year round, but it does have a special flavor to it around Halloween.
