Her Rising Flame By Clíodhna O’Sullivan

We’re starting our list of November audiobooks with Her Rising Flame by Clíodhna O’Sullivan! The second book in a romantasy trilogy, this audiobook features three narrators for our three main characters: Éadha, Ionáin, and Gry. Éadha is on the run from the Master Channellers. Ionáin grapples with a harsh truth and his new fate. Gry must play along with the people who stand for everything he hates. This sequel starts to break down everything these characters knew about their world, with Éadha reaching the end of the map and facing so many impossible choices. It’s a riveting audiobook that we never wanted to end!

If They Knew By A.J. Wooding

Our next November audiobook is A.J. Wooding’s debut thriller, If They Knew, which is arguably the most suspenseful one on this list. (Be sure to check out the content warnings and listen at your discretion.) After Theo Parrish’s father dies, it’s up to him to carry on his father’s legacy with Parrish Cruise Lines. What was meant to be a training voyage for his company’s first vessel turns into a drawn-out disaster after a freak storm hits. With no communications or power, Theo becomes responsible for all the lives on the ship. Days turn into weeks, which turn into months, and soon, groups of passengers fight for the remaining supplies.

Salt Water Blood By Manuia Heinrich

Finally, we recommend Dr. Manuia Heinrich’s debut novel, Salt Water Blood, which is also the first young adult novel from a major U.S. publisher by a Mā’ohi author! This speculative thriller tells the story of Moe, an Indigenous teen who has the ability to hear and feel prophecies from the sea itself. Though it’s a power she’s always feared, Moe must use it to save her brother Tao from his foretold death and secure their passage off their island home. Salt Water Blood gives us a look into the beauty of Polynesian culture, while also addressing the devastation left behind by colonialism and nuclear testing.
