This one is for our European readers. If your fall isn’t already filled with tours, we have another one for you to add to your schedules. Only The Poets is touring their brand new EP One More Night, which will be out June 7th. While we wait patiently (fine, a little impatiently) to devour the EP and see them kick off their tour, we are going through their flawless discography. And we have some songs that we absolutely have to hear live.
‘Gone By Now’
You didn’t think we could have an Only The Poets setlist without their latest masterpiece, did you? Upbeat songs with sad lyrics are the best to hear live. How else are we supposed to scream our emotions out while still jumping around like maniacs?
‘Crash’
This has been the opening song on Only The Poets’ spring tour. We are willing to let it as the opener if the One More Night EP brings a better candidate, but we are not willing to let it go entirely. Just listening to it, we can feel the energy of a live performance of this song. We believe it’s something that everyone should experience at least once, and we beg Only The Poets to give us that opportunity.
‘Waking in the Dark’
Every concert needs to have its chill moment. Of course, we need to slow down to breathe for a second. We would like to request that this moment come in the form of ‘Waking in the Dark.’ Because it was only released as a part of their demo collection, it needs its moment to shine each night. And we are only too willing to give it that.
‘Every Song I Ever Wrote’
What more is there to say than this song is incredible and we would like to hear it live, please? Only The Poets has a small enough collection of songs right now that they can play most of their hits. Yes, we know the One More Night EP will be filled with more hits, and we welcome them to the future setlist with open arms. As long as they don’t get rid of ‘Every Song I Ever Wrote.’ It’s another chance to slow down and appreciate a bittersweet moment with a venue full of your favorite people. The video even demonstrates the perfection of this song live with shots of their full crowds.
‘One More Night’
While we’re on the subject of requests, we’d like to make another one. Can someone get every Only The Poets song on a movie soundtrack? Because each song is so cinematic, we would feel like the main character in a film if we heard any of these live. Especially ‘One More Night.’ The song is about seizing one’s night and making the most of your best memories, and aren’t concerts some of our best memories?
