Who is Tayla Parx?
As a fan in today’s music, in any genre, you might’ve heard something along the lines of “Tayla Made.” If not, you’re in luck! What or should I say who is behind the phrase? Actress, singer, and songwriter Tayla Parx.
Tayla Parx is from Dallas, Texas, who got her start in acting. Mostly known from her role as Little Inez in Hairspray (2007). A top artist who Parx has written and worked with is artist and friend Ariana Grande. Some of her hits include ‘Thank U, Next’ and ‘7 Rings’. With her debut album We Need To Talk coming out this past April, Tayla embarks on her first headlining world tour.
The Show
The night started with Dallas-native singer, LaVoyce. The R&B songstress got the crowd hyped with her songs including ‘Love Me’ and ‘In My Bag’. The singer talked to the audience about her journey as an artist so far, and her upcoming projects.
Starting out the night with ‘Disconnected’ the crowd became hyped to see the star. Followed by ‘I Want You’ and ‘Homiesexual’ Tayla talked to the audience about opening her tour in her hometown. Through the show, we’re able to see how much being home was a treat.
With guitarist Quintin Zoto, Parx talks about a few hit songs that she has written. Not only did she talk about them, she performed a medley of them as well! Songs include ‘High Hopes’ with Panic! At The Disco, Ariana Grande’s ‘7 Rings’ and ‘Thank U, Next’. Tayla also talks about working with two other Texas natives, Normani and Khalid for ‘Love Lies’.
As the night continued, Tayla thanked her fans, or should I say “Taylatotts” for allowing her to be as successful as she is today. After talking to the audience, we’re able to see how much she loves dancing, where she did a dance break. Following the dance break, the singer slowed it down to sing ‘Easy’. The rest of the show picked back up ending the night on a high note.
The Experience
One thing making the night memorable for those in attendance was the intimate feeling. As the show was finished, Tayla made it a point to see and meet all of her fans. While watching this, you can see how happy and genuine Tayla was about this experience.
