Summer never feels quite complete without an incredible anthem from Meghan Trainor, and she’s giving us just that with ‘Bad For Me,’ a collab with Teddy Swims that takes our breath away! The track discusses the awkward feeling when someone you really care about just isn’t treating you right, and sees Meghan and Teddy choosing to be the bigger person and move on without causing a scene.
My dad actually sent me Teddy’s video for ‘Broke,’ and I’ve been so obsessed with him ever since. It’s a dream to record with someone who has that good of a voice, and he’s the sweetest guy ever. The song is a true story for me. It’s about how I stood up for myself and took a step back from a relationship that was hurting me more than anything. It’s hard to do, but I needed to in order to feel better.

Did anyone else pick up on that retro pop feel that ‘Bad For Me’ has? That was an intentional nod back to Meghan’s 50s pop vibes from her debut Title era! We still jam out to hits like ‘Lips Are Movin’ and ‘Dear Future Husband,’ so we’re ecstatic that she’s going back to that sound. It feels like a more mature version of the younger Meghan we fell in love with and we’re so here for it!
I tried to do the doo-wop feel I had at the beginning of my career, but the 2022 version of it. This is from the new Meghan who is a wife and mom with a baby. This is from me right now. I decided to give the people what they want, but with my spices added to it. I wanted to make my Title 2.0.

But you didn’t think she’d make Title 2.0 with just one song, did you? Okay, now here’s the most exciting news. We’re getting an entire new Meghan album this fall, with Takin’ It Back dropping on October 21st! She’s recruiting Scott Hoying of Pentatonix, Theron Theron, Natti Natasha, Arturo Sandoval, and, of course, Teddy Swims for features, so you already know this project is gonna be incredible.
If you need us at any point this summer, there’s a decent chance we’ll be crying along to ‘Bad For Me’ and returning to Title over and over again. What about you?
