Phew. Okay. You know we’ve been hyped up about this album for ages, and now it’s finally here and we’re feeling all the things!! Like… we’re not entirely sure how Alexander 23 pulled all of the exact emotions we’re feeling out of our heads and turned them into an 11-track masterpiece, but we’re so glad he did. Seriously, we’re still trying to process how Aftershock is making us feel so that we can talk to you about it but truly, we’re still at a loss for words (in a good way).
Well… not totally at a loss for words, we did have some thoughts about the album on our initial listen and thought it might be fun to share 😌 (This is mostly focused on the new songs that weren’t singles, though we love the singles with our whole heart).
Not that Alexander 23 has ever released anything bad, but we’re pretty sure this is some of his best work yet. Aftershock grapples with heartbreak and love and pain in an emotionally gripping way that has us lying in bed re-evaluating our life really relating to the music. Did we expect to spend the summer simping? No, but if Alexander 23’s Aftershock is the soundtrack, we can’t even be mad about it.

We get a music video for this one too? Big mood. How can you not love a video that includes puppies?? Absolute gold. We’re not even mad about the blown budget.

Alexander 23’s Aftershock is a must-listen album. Are we being dramatic? Not at all. Once you hear it, you’ll understand. We knew it would blow us away based on all the singles but Alexander has exceeded our wildest expectations and we’re so happy we finally get to enjoy Aftershock in its entirety.
