Cold Hart And Lil Peep Are Warming Up Our Cold Hearts With ‘Dying’

You know when a certain song feels like a warm hug in audio form? Yeah, that’s one of our favorite feelings, and we just got a new musical hug from two of our favorite artists on the alt scene: Cold Hart and Lil Peep! The song opens up about mental health and an unclear relationship with the angsty emotional flare that these superstars have become known for.

Before Lil Peep’s passing, he was a proud member of the GothBoiClique collective, a group of artists that blur the lines between hip-hop and rock while helping millions of fans worldwide feel less alone in what they might be going through. Cold Hart is one of the co-founders of GBC, and he and Peep worked together on songs like ‘Down For You,’ ‘Black Jeep,’ and ‘Me & You’ – so if you like ‘Dying,’ you have quite the catalog to jump into afterward!

I was hopeless then, but not afraid. I was depressed but I was lit, just like everyone else was. I grew up in the hood but I loved alternative music, but I was too turnt for the alt kids. We dressed like rockers but we posted up at the rap shows downtown. I didn’t have anyone to be in a band with so we sampled songs to express how we felt. We didn’t need anything back then.

Speaking of looking back on the past – with a great quote BTW, thank you for that, Cold Hart! – Coldy didn’t just drop one song. He dropped an entire 27-track mixtape that includes songs spanning his career, and you need to check it out if you’re digging ‘Dying’ as much as we do. The OC Season 3 is more than a mixtape: it’s an adventure through Cold Hart’s growth as an artist that makes us even more excited for his future work!

I wrote these love songs to pass the time but more importantly almost as a memoir of the moment. Not literally what was happening but the emotions of the era. I miss all my friends from this time when everything was pure and raw and we made whatever we wanted anywhere. Literally anywhere.
