Starting off the month strong, The Honey POP got to hear Lauren Spencer-Smith and her opener, Geena Fontanella, live in Boston. We are still head over heels remembering her set last week. Fans were absolutely stoked to jam out with the beauty that is a Lauren. And yes, we are fans… fans are us.
Geena, Our Queen!
Starting off the night, Geena Fontanella felt like home. She had a fun and energetic artistic flare that could stop anyone dead in their tracks. She sang her song, ‘Cry For The Both Of Us’ along with a few covers that covered and matched her range perfectly. As the crowd kept loudly chanting for Geena, she was taken aback by the affection for her. As this was her last night on tour with her close friend Lauren, she gave it her all and we were 100% here for it.

The energy in the room instantly changed when the pop singer started stepping up to the stage. Fans started crying and screaming elated they could be in the same room as Lauren. She covered some of her most popular songs like ‘Fingers Crossed’ and ‘Back to Friends.’ But also covered Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘All I Want.’ The balance between her new and old discography was skillfully done.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention Lauren’s outfit which set the vibe for the rest of the show. Channeling her best Billie Eilish, Lauren wore an oversized hoodie and checkered shorts giving the best comfy but ready to party vibes.
We were blown away by the talent and humble presence Lauren had. The whole night had felt like the best group therapy session where we all got to sing our hearts out and lean on new friends. With minimal lighting, a small but talented crew, and Lauren interacting with the first few rows, it was definitely worth the wait.
