We had the pleasure of seeing singer-songwriter and actress Suki Waterhouse kick off her Coolest Place In The World Tour at The Constellation Room at the Observatory in Santa Ana, CA. Hailing from London, England, the incredibly talented Waterhouse has dropped numerous singles, an album, and her latest EP release, Milk Teeth. Waterhouse has also starred in several movies, including Persuasion and Daliland. Oh, and did we mention she’s dating Robert Pattinson?!
First up was Jane, and they did not disappoint. Jane started the set with soft, acoustic guitar tones and immediately wowed us with a powerful voice that oozed with rawness. Jane then alternated between playing his acoustic guitar and the keyboard, which the crowd loved as the beats behind the keyboard put us all in a trance. I know that we will be playing his EP, What a Wonderful Time To Be Barely Alive, on repeat.
Not long after Jane’s set, Suki Waterhouse mesmerized us the second she stepped on stage. The crowd took out their phones to capture the first moments of Waterhouse’s performance but quickly put them away to appreciate her dynamic stage presence. Some of our favorite songs of the night include ‘Bullshit on the Internet,’ ‘Moves,’ and ‘Coolest Place in the World.’ Many of these songs reminded us of Snail Mail, which makes sense since Brad Cook produced Waterhouses’s I Can’t Let You Go.
Waterhouse made sure to charm us in between songs, and we loved when she called herself our “millennial mom.” And, of course, she ended the night with the popular single, ‘Good Looking,’ which put us all in a perfect, dreamy haze. We loved every second of her multi-faceted performance.
We feel so lucky we could experience the first night of Coolest Place In the World Tour. There are so many tour stops ahead, and we highly recommend that you attend one! You can see tour dates and locations here! And for a sneak peek of what’s to come, check out our gallery below:
