How many of your faves released new music in the isolation phase of the pandemic? Now, how many of your faves released music about the isolation phase of the pandemic? Probably not as many, but that just makes Juliana Tucker’s ‘The Great Indoors’ stand out even more as a beautiful snapshot of a lonely time we all went through together. This piano-led pop track is all about facing your inner self and winning that battle to emerge as the best possible version of yourself, growing stronger as you comb back through your bad habits, painful memories, and the years where you didn’t put your own needs and wishes first.
‘The Great Indoors’ is about finding comfort in solitude and learning how to look within ourselves for happiness rather than finding it elsewhere. It’s a song for anyone who lives life for themselves rather than living life to please someone else. It forces you to look within yourself. When I first wrote this song, it made me emotional. When I sing it now, I’m reminded of all the difficult days and moments I endured in the pandemic and how much stronger I am today. To be able to have written something so meaningful and bright from something so dark is exactly why I started writing music to begin with.
If you love ‘The Great Indoors,’ you’ll be excited to hear that Juliana is gearing up to drop her debut EP of the same name in March! While she hasn’t unveiled many details about the project yet, it’s practically guaranteed that these new songs will be just as confessional and thoughtful as ‘The Great Indoors’ and her past standouts like ‘Let Me Let Loose.’ We can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for us!
‘The Great Indoors’ is my most meaningful song to date. Not only is it the title track off my debut EP, but it’s the only song I wrote within the confined walls of my 1-bedroom apartment during the peak of the pandemic. This song encompasses what my entire EP communicates: the journey of growing up.
We don’t know about you, but we’ll be listening to ‘The Great Indoors’ in every room of our house while we wait for Juliana’s debut EP. Make sure you keep an ear out for The Great Indoors on March 3rd, then buzz on over to our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to let us know which track you’re claiming!
