But those songs aren’t where our love affair with Maisie Peters started, it all goes back to a song we found on a Spotify playlist, ‘Worst of You.’ ‘Worst of You’ is a great jumping-off point if you want to truly delve into how an incredibly vulnerable lyricist Maisie Peters is, and that vulnerability is captured perfectly on her newest track, ‘Body Better,’ as well as these three songs we’re going to gush over in this article!

‘Outdoor Pool’
We were lucky enough to hear ‘Outdoor Pool’ on Maisie’s most recent North America tour, and we haven’t been able to get enough of the track ever since. In ‘Outdoor Pool’ Maisie truly shows off her chops as a storyteller. So many details of this track are so specific, yet that specificity makes us relate even more, it’s the Taylor Swift trope that only the best singer-songwriters exhibit.
The line “It’s the worst day of my life, but it’s all good” still destroys us.
‘Favourite Ex’
‘Favourite Ex’ is our favorite Maisie Peters song. Period.
Ever since our first listen we’ve been able to see such a clear picture of what this track is about for us. Maisie was able to paint the emotions in this track in such a way that it’s impossible not to immediately feel like it was stripped from your diary. This is the more heartbreaking version of Katy Perry’s ‘The One That Got Away.’
‘Worst Of You’
As you could have guessed based on how we started this article, we have to gush about ‘Worst Of You.’ Loving someone so much that you’d stay even while they repeatedly give you the worst of themselves (while yes, very toxic as well) is such a heartbreaking realization to come to. Maisie puts this insanely heavy feeling into words so beautifully.
