Double, double, we’re in trouble! Why? Lilac Haze released two new singles; we can’t decide which one we love more. Do we even have to? ‘The Ghost That I Once Knew’ and ‘Lilac Haze’ are both so beautifully unique but still manage to intertwine seamlessly. Through airy vocals and gorgeous storytelling, we effortlessly float through a journey of growth and loss, leaving us wanting more.
I wrote Ghost after a period of self-reflection during a time when I felt unsure and lost in my new surroundings. It’s a reflection of the loss of innocence as we mature… a farewell to your old self.
Lilac Haze
‘The Ghost That I Once Knew’
If we could capture late-night drives under the stars in a bottle it would be this song. While sad in its undertones, ‘The Ghost That I Once Knew’ still fills you with a sense of warmth. Growing up, changing, and evolving are inevitable pieces of life. For some, it can be difficult to say goodbye to who they once were and embrace their newest version. Lilac Haze has created the perfect song to be the soundtrack through that transition, allowing all of us to know we’re not alone.
‘Lilac Haze’
Within seconds you’re immediately sucked in with a haunting chant and kept captivated by her siren-like tone. According to her, this song is for anyone affected by the loss of a loved one to Dementia or Alzheimers. Her ability to use her lyricism to bring that pain to life is mesmerizing. ‘Lilac Haze’ is sure to hit home for several, and that’s magical!
We can’t get enough of Lilac Haze! She is a raw and glorious talent who managed to bare her soul in the most awe-inspiring way, making every song feel like home. If you’re a fan of Fleetwood Mac or watch Practical Magic all year ’round, we’d guarantee Lilac Haze will find her way into your heart and your playlist!
