It’s no secret that Holly Jackson writes amazing mysteries, and Kill Joy is no exception! From the very first page, we were immediately drawn right back into the world of Pip and her friends. The concept of the murder mystery dinner party was very intriguing and captured our attention. It was so much fun to go back and revisit what life was like for Pip before her project. We also got to see so many characters we loved from the series, including Cara – we couldn’t get enough of her banter with Pip!
For avid fans of the series, there’s also a lot of subtle foreshadowing and hints about what happens throughout the trilogy. There were so many fun Easter eggs to look for while reading, and it makes the book such an enriching experience for readers who already loved Pip’s story!
Even though Kill Joy is about a murder mystery dinner party, there were still quite a few chilling moments that kept us on the edge of our seats. Plus, the mystery itself was so intriguing and reminded us of a classic Agatha Christie story! We eagerly tried to uncover the truth along with Pip, and it felt like we were playing the game along with her. After seeing Pip’s inspiration for investigating the Andie Bell case, we’re dying to reread the series!
Intriguing at every turn, Kill Joy by Holly Jackson will captivate you until the final page. And trust us, with how immersive this story is, it won’t take you long to get there!
