Friday, the 14th was a big day for pop punk fans. Waterparks released their highly anticipated fifth studio album, Intellectual Property! Magnolia Park also released the deluxe edition of their 2022 album, Baku’s Revenge! You know that we’re huge stans of both bands at The Honey POP. And if you aren’t stanning both, as well, we think you should! While both bands are unique and have their own sound, there is some overlap with both bands being pop punk. Here are 3 songs by each band that we think share similar vibes.

We’ve all been there. Hopelessly being in love with someone, but still holding onto hope that you can get into a relationship with that person. ‘BRAINWASHED’ and ‘Addison Rae‘ fit that pretty well. They’re also fun, upbeat songs that you can blast while you wait for a text back.

One of the essential themes for the genre. Is a band truly pop-punk, if they don’t have songs about their friends? We know that sonically, the vibes aren’t the same. But they’re both amazing and catchy songs in their own way.

Now, the other side: break-ups. ‘CLOSER’ and ‘Dizzy’ don’t sound extremely sad, but the lyrics hit hard. Both sets of lyrics are extremely poetic. It’s amazing how sadness can be turned into something beautiful like these songs.

Parx is about to embark on the PROPERTY TOUR their nearly sold-out North American headlining tour. For the few shows that aren’t completely sold out, you can get tickets here. Unfortunately, Mag Park just finished their headlining tour, but don’t fret! They’re also playing Four Chord Music Fest and When We Were Young Fest.
