It’s No Sin To Fall For DRIPPIN

DRIPPIN

Can you imagine our excitement after DRIPPIN announced a comeback not long after their Japanese single, ‘Hello Goodbye,’ dropped? We counted down the days until SEVEN SINS, so we could add it to our playlists immediately! Yes, we knew it would be good, and we were right.

After ending the Villain era (which we loved), we grew curious about DRIPPIN’s next musical approach. Now that we finally got to hear it, we keep pressing the replay button… and we mean on all three songs, not just the title.

Speaking of, each track has a different feel to it, which makes this quite a fun experience. We wanted to give our outlook on SEVEN SINS and how the single album made us fall even more for DRIPPIN and their sound!

‘SEVEN SINS’

We got used to the fast-paced titles from previous comebacks, and ‘SEVEN SINS’ decided to pull us in a slightly different direction. While the song feels a bit slower, it still presents quite an impact. Overall, the members give off a more mature feel to the song and concept.

To add to the charm, DRIPPIN included the theme of the seven sins, which got us even more excited for this new era. In particular, their music video has plenty of little things to look out for, and we recommend rewatching it to find them all. You’ll get that jaw-dropping moment when you notice them. No, we won’t point them all out, but we’ll share just one! In our opinion, the most eye-catching one would be the ‘FFAALLAF’ sign that appears throughout the clip as a background during the boys’ dance scenes, as well as in other shots 👀

Now, this is most likely a reference to the secret message found in the ‘Paradise Lost’ poem by John Milton, and we think it’s a good fit for this concept. ‘FFAALLAF’ is connected to the fall of Adam and Eve, and Satan, each committing a kind of sin that led to it. We believe the few falling scenes we see are connected exactly to this.

What’s even more intriguing is how the message is seen upside down for a big part of the music video until we get close to the end. We also consider that part to be the highlight. The song builds us for this short moment when the tension is heightened. We notice this from the sound and the burning letters, which are now properly turned around. Simply put, we’re just left in “wow” after ‘SEVEN SINS.’

‘STEREO’

“Put it on the stereo!” No, seriously, if you’re not listening, what are you doing? ‘STEREO’ is an adventure your ears will appreciate. The change in the sound leaves us impressed with how DRIPPIN’s vocals fit so well and show us a new way to appreciate their talents even more.

‘BAD BLOOD’

Did we expect the last song on the list to hit us this hard? We certainly did not! The powerful sound from the rock elements gives us that pump-up we need from time to time. All that energy rushing through us, are you also feeling it? We’ll be listening to this DRIPPIN song when we need to get hyped up real fast. We’re pretty sure it will work like a charm.
