Catch Us ‘Runnin” To See Tyler Posey’s UNRAVEL Release Show

Yes, you read that correctly. Tyler Posey became a solo artist in 2020 after diving into pop-punk, taking part in projects like PVMNTS and Five North, and his first full-length album, UNRAVEL, drops on May 26th. Diving into the solo artist world has given Tyler more creative freedom and it shows from the singles we’ve already gotten. The contrast between the sound of ‘Lemon’ and his latest single, ‘Runnin” has us super excited to hear what the rest of UNRAVEL is going to sound like.

Being an independent artist, there is a lot of freedom, and that’s exactly what this album is. Freedom. It’s got every genre from screamo hardcore punk to chill beach vibes. Listen to it from start to finish in order, to really experience the ride that is UNRAVEL, my first full length LP!

Tyler Posey via press release

To celebrate the UNRAVEL release, Tyler announced an album release show at the legendary Chain Reaction on June 10th. Grab your tickets here because we’re pretty sure it’s a show you won’t want to miss. Tyler Posey, pop-punk, and Chain Reaction? One of the best venues ever? Can’t go wrong, simply.

The fact that we already have some singles from the album means that you get to hype yourself up while you wait for the full 16-track release!

‘Runnin”

This is the latest single to drop from UNRAVEL and when Tyler said “chill beach vibes,” he meant it. First of all, the cover art is literally him in the ocean. Sure, he’s riding a T-Rex, but he looks so chill doing it. The song asks what you’re running from, encouraging you to let go and embrace the love you’re being given. The production of this track definitely gives us “chill beach vibes” in every sense. We could totally picture this song playing while lounging on the beach and we can’t wait to hear how it sounds live at Chain Reaction. We love seeing the range of these singles, how each one hits a different sound or genre but still has Tyler’s unique touch woven into it. Be sure to stream ‘Runnin” here!

‘Lemon’

‘Lemon’ goes in an entirely opposite direction from ‘Runnin” and, spoiler alert, we’re absolutely in love with both songs. ‘Lemon’ leans more into the angstier screamo/pop-punk sound. It reminds us of some of Tyler’s previous pop-punk work and he really thrives in this genre of music. You might already be familiar with this song since it premiered in Teen Wolf: The Movie. We can’t wait to hear it on the Chain Reaction stage!

‘Gravity’

‘Gravity’ feels like a midway point from the singles we’ve already covered. The opening lines feel a little more laid back and toned down, but they still sound like a pop-punk track. Think of that one ballad track on a pop-punk album that becomes a fan favorite, it’s kind of like that. It immediately picks up the tempo and transforms into something you might’ve heard in the 2010s era of pop-punk (that is a good thing). It’s high energy and catchy! If we can see ourselves crowdsurfing to it, that’s a win, and we definitely see it with ‘Gravity.’ We love every one of the UNRAVEL singles, but ‘Gravity’s’ sound is something special.

‘Don’t Mind Me’

‘Don’t Mind Me’ takes on self-reflection with a dose of early 2000s nostalgia. Every line hits something that he’s doing while he’s doing the best he can and just trying to stay afloat. “I’m doing the best that I can, over and over, getting up when I fall back” is such a mood. The angst of this song really fits the era of pop-punk it emulates and we have a feeling this will also be amazing to hear live.
