5 Lessons We’ve Learned From YUNGBLUD Over The Years

Whether you are part of the Black Hearts Club or not, there’s one thing that we can all agree on: YUNGBLUD is unapologetically himself and makes sure his voice is heard. Not only that, but he’s a voice for those finding their own. It’s safe to say we think he is a total icon for that. But really, he’s a total icon for more than just that!

Let’s take a moment to sit down together, listen to our favorite YUNGBLUD songs, and think about some of the things we’ve learned from Dom over the years.

Don’t Let Your Insecurities Define Who You Are

We’ve all got them. Big, small, or somewhere in between. There’s no denying that there’s a hefty struggle when it comes to our own personal insecurities. They can overtake you, and sometimes, they can even break you.

In ‘god save me, but don’t drown me out’ from the album weird!, Dom says, “I won’t let my insecurities define who I am.” Let’s take that same spirit that he has in this song and carry it forward in life. It’s tough, but we can all do it!

And can we just take a moment to appreciate the music video for this song? It’s one of our absolute favorites!

Being The Real You Is So Important

When YUNGBLUD is on stage and he’s looking out to the crowd at all of your wonderful faces, he can see every one of you and how beautifully unique you are. No following the crowd under Dom’s watch (unless you’re belting out the lyrics to your favorites such as ‘Lowlife,’ ‘Sex Not Violence,’ and ‘mars!’).

Dom’s always one to tell you to be yourself and he follows his own advice. As we said before, he’s unapologetically himself through and through. Follow in Dom’s creepers. Be your beautiful, best self, and don’t let anyone change your truth!

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay Sometimes

Life is such a chaotic whirlwind and sometimes it can really make you feel low. Being vulnerable and admitting you’re not okay is totally okay! That’s a real thing that every single human in this world will feel sometimes.

Dom’s been there, too. We’ve seen him be expressive and display his emotions out to all of us. He’s told us how he’s felt and it’s helped us to know it’s okay to say how we feel. It’s so important to share if we’re feeling low, especially these days.

Speak up to someone if you need to get something off your chest! Don’t stay quiet. You are important and your voice will be heard!

Family Is Everything

And we’re not just talking about family connected by blood. We’re talking about you and the Black Hearts Club as a whole. Look at the family that has been built up over the years. New friends have been found, core memories made and shared, and it’s all thanks to YUNGBLUD.

But it’s all thanks to you, too. You are a part of this family, a part of the Black Hearts Club, and you make it what it is today. Every single one of you. And going to a YUNGBLUD show is always so special. It’s wonderful because we all come together as a family, as a bustling like-minded community, ready to share the love and adoration together.

Putting our arms around the shoulders of new friends during ‘Sweet Heroine’ will always be one of our favorite things and just the general connection that we all have when we’re at a show. It’s a beautiful thing.

Pink Socks Never Go Out Of Fashion

Yes, we are counting this as our final light-hearted lesson on this list! Because really, how could we not highlight YUNGBLUD’s iconic pink socks? They should get an article of their own in our opinion. All bazillion pairs of them.

The day Dom doesn’t have at least one pink sock on his foot on stage is the day we throw a very concerned fit. Wouldn’t it just be so strange to see him without them?
