It’s been 15 years since The Fame hit the charts and the universe shifted. Lady Gaga dropped hits like ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Paparazzi’ that forever changed how music lovers consume music. The genre of pop was redefined forever and Gaga became an untouchable legend.
Not only did Gaga change the face of pop music, but she also revolutionized fashion. For some, they turned their heads in question, but for us, we turn our heads in excitement and wonderment!
To celebrate 15 years of The Fame we broke down our top 5 fave Gaga looks from 2013 to now.
THE MONA LISA (2013)
The artist becomes art 🖼️. One of the most well-known musicians of our time takes on one of the most popular paintings of all time. 2 icons in one look, what could be better? In London, Gaga sported a minidress covered with a cloth poncho depicting Leonardo Divinci’s, The Mona Lisa. The dress was worn in part to promote her new album (at the time), ARTPOP. She surely did POP with this piece, giving a resemblance to the muse herself with dark makeup features and a long, brown wig.
THE SILVER SEA URCHIN (2014)
Don’t get too close! One of our fav theatrical pieces from Lady Gaga is this inflatable dress that could be a sea urchin, a Christmas ornament, or maybe even a pinata. We don’t know, but we love it! The inflatable was paired with a pair of simple red heels, but they were almost unnoticeable under the many shimmering spikes 🦑. The outfit sparked lots of attention for the artist who was in Paris at the time for the ARTRAVE tour.
THE FAMED WIDOW (2018)
May she rest in peace! Gaga turned heads with this stunning all-black, funeral moment 🖤. We hope she wasn’t mourning the loss of anything except our sanity. We adore it when Gaga wears bright bold colors, but an all-black formfitting dress is a change of pace that makes us go googly-eyed! The velvet dress is paired with a lace covering that extended down the arms as sleeves. Designed by Armani Prive, we applaud him for making our girl look so stunning!
THE GREEN RAPTOR (2020)
Green with envy! We wish we could look as stunning as Gaga in this wide, draping jewel-toned silk ballgown 💚. The gown was worn as she accepted the award for Song of the Year at the 2020 VMAS for ‘Rain on Me’ (that song is on our repeat playlist!). The outfit was elevated with a unique mask that had horns extending on both sides. We love our COVID-safe queen! This is definitely an under-appreciated Gaga outfit and one of our favs! You can see this gown for yourself at the Crown to Coutoure exhibit in Kensington Palace, London 👑.
THE PURPLE BUTTERFLY (2021)
She can fly! Gaga soared into the House of Gucci movie premiere with this sheer purple dress giving the effect of butterfly wings 🦋. The slit dress (designed by Gucci, duh!) was paired with black studded tights, staple black high-heel boots, and a breathtaking purple eyeshadow look. We think Gaga looks perfect in purple! Regardless of her stardom in the film, she projected to outer space with this one!
