Lady Gaga Breaks Records Left And Right During The Chromatica Ball

Earlier this summer, Lady Gaga, and her team embarked on her first all-stadium tour. We were counting down the days until the first performance to find out the set list, design, and dances Gaga would perform. And she did NOT disappoint. The Chromatica Ball started on July 17th in Dusseldorf, Germany, and will conclude on September 17th in Miami, Florida.

The tour has already broken records in various cities. Fans have gone to social media to share that they believe this is the best tour of Gaga’s career. We couldn’t agree more!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the first time Gaga’s sixth studio album Chromatica, (2020) will be performed. Luckily, they could tour again in front of an audience in July 2022. Maybe it’s Lady Gaga’s insane stage presence, maybe it’s due to the long wait, or maybe it’s both, but fans are selling out stadiums night after night. Gaga’s summer tour has been a hit!

Playing hits such as ‘Poker Face’ and ‘Bad Romance,’ Lady Gaga also included songs from her more recent albums and elaborate dance scenes to accompany them. Gaga is truly a performer, there is no doubt about it. There is a piece of her in every aspect of the show, from choreography to costume changes, it is clear she cares deeply about her career and fanbase.

Tour Influences

Upon the tour’s kickoff, Gaga wrote: “WELCOME TO MY MUSEUM OF BRUTALITY” on Instagram paired with a black and white photograph of the stage with the crowd below. Brutalist architecture inspired a large part of the set design for The Chromatica Ball this tour. This construction trend was popular during the 1950s post-war era. It is highly expressive and symbolizes starting over. Finding yourself after a period of misfortune and darkness has also influenced much of this tour and the album.

Breaking Records

37,200 fans gathered at Fenway Park in Boston to experience The Chromatica Ball on August 19th. This is the highest attendance for a show at this venue ever!

Lady Gaga set the record for the highest-grossing show at Hershey Park Stadium on August 29th. The Rolling Stones had held this record since 2005! She went to Instagram to celebrate the event:

There are only a few more chances to catch Lady Gaga’s The Chromatica Ball!
