Our beloved Korean actress, Kim Sejeong, has just dropped her first full-length album, Door. Known for her famous on-screen roles, such as starring in Business Proposal, Sejeong opens the door to her various musical talents and showcases her incredible versatility within the new album. As she shares her untold stories, she also experiments with many musical genres. To celebrate the release, we’re stepping through the Door and immersing ourselves in the diverse soundscape of the album.
Jazz
A genre that’s been quietly but quickly taking over all our playlists here at The Honey POP is jazz. Fortunately, Door offers some tracks that provide our perfect jazz fix. A song that we can’t get enough of is ‘Indigo Promise.’ Lyrically, this song explores the comfort and hope between two lovers. Acoustically, it reminds us of the indigo that paints the sky after a bright orange sunset.

R&B
To add even more versatility to the mix, the song ‘Top Or Cliff’ introduces an R&B sound to the album. The track is full of anticipation as Sejeong’s singing style falls into a sultry vibe. Her delivery of each line is nothing short of beautiful and full of a captivating charm. Unlike the previous songs we have explored, the chorus of ‘Top Or Cliff’ is full of deep power, and we can all picture ourselves as the main characters in a cinematic masterpiece.
